Amazing that they can be in the 21rst century when it comes to armaments but when it comes to barbarity they are still in the middle ages and have witch trials.

Iran is probably the most westernized middle eastern country…literally right there with Israel and the UAE. In many respects they are well ahead of much of the region…both in terms of education and civility. I also think it’s fair to say that they are at least as democratic as Israel as well.
If it wasn’t for the hostility between our two governments, I’d travel there in a heartbeat with no concerns for my safety. At least no more concerns than traveling anywhere else that’s moderately civilized.
