So… I just migrated from RIM BB to iPhone4. I would like to be able to put the phone in a case for protection purposes. I would also like to be able to carry the phone on my belt. I work in suit and tie most days, so pocket carry is tough.
Any ideas on a carry mode that might also incorporate some physical protection for the phone? Most options I’ve seen so far go one way or the other, but not both.
I use Noveske’s case most of the time. I have a Magpul case but it doesn’t really fit the Verizon iPhone. For rugged use, I use a Griffin Survivor. If I want a non-“GRRR” belt pouch, I use one of the many horizontal belt cases on the market.
The Speck Pixelskin HD has served me pretty well for a while now. It covers everything but the front, and you can do the invisible shield on that. I recently (few days ago) switched to the Otterbox due to the abusive environments where my phone hangs out; otherwise I’d still have the Speck.
When it comes to size and case fit, there is no difference between the black and white iPhone. There is a slight difference between the Verizon and AT&T iPhone.
I stopped using a case. Mostly I got tired of chasing around after one that worked for me, and kept finding the “naked” phone in my pocket anyway. Everyone assures me that I’ll have smashed it any day now, but everything is backed up anyway so that’s ok.
