IOR Tactical Scopes

I’m looking for a short light weight tactical scope for 3-gun and came across IOR who offer a couple of interessting scopes.

Here are the two I’m looking at: 1.5-8x26 (http://www.valdada.com/product/a2655086-d6e1-4df9-ba34-42428d8b0c8b.aspx) and the 1:4x32 QR-TS PITBULL(http://www.valdada.com/product/6928a7e3-e3bc-48d0-9e8a-4ac78862cd81.aspx

I’m curious to whether anyone on the forum owns one of these or has used one and would like to comment.

I havent used the models you are looking at, but had good luck with IOR. They are robust and very clear. Valadala was helpful also. Hope this helps a little

I’ve read some not-so-good things on the pitbull (like it breaking during mounting on one reviewer’s rifle). Warranty/repair issues can be a problem as well.

For less money, if you can wait a few months, I’m hearing great things about the Vortex Viper 1-4x24 - you can get MOA or mil/mil reticles. I’ve been very impressed by Vortex optics over the past year.

Just a heads up. A friend and I went through 3 1.1-4 IOR scope and a 1.5-8. None of the scopes would hold zero and were replaced under warranty by the guys at Valdada, who I must say did stand behind their product. I even gave them my rifle for a week so they could test fire it for themselves, it didn’t hold zero for them either and they replaced the scope. They ended up replacing my scope 1.1-4 for the second time. At that point I decided not to mount it at all and sell it new in the box.

My friend had Valdada replace a 1.1-4 with a 1.5-8 (he paid the extra) this scope would not hold zero either. I trip from and to the range in the trunk would mean it had to be re-zeroed.

When they replaced his scope for a second time he did the same as me and didn’t mount it and sold it NIB.

We both have the Leupold MK4 1.5-5 now which has held it’s zero without issue.

They mentioned, at one point, they the reticle adjustment mechanism was/will be changed, and I am not sure if the pitbull is the same at the 1.1-4 or 1.5-8.

Regardless of the scope issues the guys at Valdada did stand behind their product and did try to make it right by replacing the scopes, they replaced 4 in total and even replaced two that had been painted.

Good guys, I hope they got the issues sorted.
