IonBond Black

What is IonBond Black? Am looking at BCM and trying to make a good choice. I came across uppers listed as 1 in 8 inch IonBond Black. That is a stainless barrel with a special black coating. Is there any major advantage to this? Is it more accurate than a regular CL barrel? Will it wear better? I just finished reading the summary on their site. Sounds good. I was thinking of going with a 1 in 7 twist. Any major differences with a 1 in 8. I will mostly shoot military loads with an occasional match rounds.
