I dislike FB as much as the next guy BUT use it to good effect to market my business.
I have over 500 “friends” mostly customers. I noticed a LOT of incredible liberal bs propaganda and very little pro conservative and it got me to thinking…
ALL the vocal friends I have on FB are unemployed! MY “favorite” knuckle head is super pro brandon and endless anti-Trump rhetoric. She used to own and run a business in coastal So Cal but now is near homeless in North Dakota!!! Struggling mightily as a 60 yo single woman. I feel bad for her but gotta chuckle every time she posts how great democrats are! The American Dream (aside from welfare) is OVER for her! Despite her skills she will never own a business like she did before.
Point is they ( the unemployed) have nothing to lose by speaking out.
But see I CAN’T post ANYTHING political as I’m sure to offend half my customer base. Other gainfully employed can’t post anything too polarizing either as they careers and could get in trouble for exercising 1A. Hence we have a cadre of vocal losers trying to sound smart driving the narrative on THE most popular public forum. I have a few housewife/homemaker types who will speak out on conservative ideas but vast minority.
One recent personal experience I have a great customer who is Jewish and her husband Israeli. Has family in Israel. She’s ultra liberal feminazi but I figured I could safely say F hamas in a private email when she described a pro hamas parade in front of her daughter’s apt in NYC and a bit of fear. From 2x a week emails, not one since! Oh well. The one time I speak out I lose a $10,000 a year customer! HAHAHA!
The cognitive dissonance HAS to be getting intense for these idiots but most have shielded themselves from facts and reality even to the point of devouring themselves!
Everything you’re describing falls under what I consider, “The Entitlement of Unemployed Behavior”. Only the unproductive have time to complain about how much people who sacrifice time and energy to better themselves have.
I’m pretty sure that COVID tricked a bunch of people in to thinking someone would take care of them.
If you don’t have a job you better get one because COVID is over and one of the results of that dcaam was that food cost are up 20-30%.
So if you’ve got time to bitch, you’ve got time to work.
All the crying in the world has never filled a soup pot.
One thing I noticed about retirement is crap like this is a trap. Get out and enjoy stuff, take care of your health and watch your drinking.
Facebook might be good for advertising, but not much else.
It’s pretty much everywhere. I cannot think of a form of social media that doesn’t include shitheads flying the hamas flag in their “about me” user info. But it’s not exactly new either. Dumb shit has always infested the net. The only difference is various forums used to allow “any discussion” or prohibit “all discussion” whereas now they actually choose a side and only allow that “preferred bias.”
We use FB damned effectively for my business and we spend ZERO dollars doing it. It makes me feel good that I’m making money off Zuck.
On the personal side I lock down my stuff as much as I can on FB, but it is still handy for certain hobby groups, local marketplace purchases, local news (small town with no real news source) plus keeping track of friends and family. You can’t really look at my profile or posts unless you’re on my friends list. I manage my “friends” list pretty well so I rarely have any conflicts or weirdness.
I ignore the drivel and don’t spread any from my side of the aisle. It is completely pointless. I’m not afraid of what my customers think, but I also have zero desire to express my opinions unless in the same room with them.
Now for this place I’m a little more opinionated, but I’m also a bit more anonomus, and I have zero customers here.
I have a Jewish friend and I, too, thought it would be safe to voice my support for Israel and disdain for hamas.
Nope. Although he wasn’t angry with me,
he proceeded to talk about how he sympathizes with the Palestinians and he wishes Israel would agree to a cease fire, that Israel is going too far, etc.
Recently I tried to look up some old friends from my college days, and it was just dismaying to see how many of them have completely lost their ever-lovin’ minds over two decades. Granted, most of them were faculty and my once quiet little alma mater turned Radical Left hard and fast after the chancellor from my day left, which was not long after I did… I see why of my metors, one retired and the other went back to the Old Country.

Honestly…how many Americans try to relate to the people who attack this country and understand their motivations at the expense of the victims of their attacks? The fact that a person is jewish isn’t going to make things any different.
Just the other day I saw some nonsense along the lines of “If you judge a person, it says something more about your character than theirs and you should try and figure out what part of you never developed.” And an endless parade of morons and idiots chiming in with “likes” and “soooo true.”
So I responded “So if I see some jackass kicking a puppy and it bothers me…there is something wrong with ME? And I need to figure out what MY problem is?”
But nobody likes a critical thinker, they just want meaningless philosophy that doesn’t require anything of them but helps them feel superior.
I was driving through Home Depot and I converged on a Customer and his car just as he popped the trunk.
It was the day of a Terrorist Attack and this Monkey had a " Coexist" bumper sticker. I asked him how he thought coexisting was working out for everyone since again a bunch of Muslims attacked a target of innocent’s.
He pretty much stood there and gulped like a fish out of water.
