saw this when he posted on FB the other day. WTF is it with the “tactical group” and hook and loop? i mean i can understand >maybe< needing a unit patch, or rank, but omfg that is entirely to much. might as well make the whole damn thing from hook and loop.
really kinda like the built in ear plugs though.
I think the integrated earpro is pretty innovative.
Made me think of Elmer Fudd from the old Buggs Bunny cartoons. Looks like they were going for an updated ‘tacticool’ version of his old-time hunting hat?
I’ve tied my plugs to my hat before and hated it.
I suppose that since MSM sells patches…

I think you’re looking for offense where there is none. It’s just a comment. sell patches, make a platform to attach patches. If there’s some other reason for it then so be it.
Dude, helmet velcro is for things like battery packs, IR illumination and identification, etc. Patches are WAY down the list of needs for a working piece of kit. The hat is designed for patches. It has specific cut velcro for some of his patches. Rob stated fact, no need to get it twisted.

Funnily enough a mate of mine got that pissed off with numpty’s sticking patches on everything that he covered as much of a jacket as possible with velcro. He then walked into the NCO’s Club wearing it covered in patches … luckily the Sgt Maj was’nt in the house.
I used to have a 35mm film canister with a loop of paracord attached to it with ducktape. I used to slip that over ab epaulette and carry my ear plugs in it.

All VERY good points for wearing a hat…which I now feel compelled to pass along to friends when they mention my thin spot. 
Personally I am sick of all the “official tactical humour” patches.
If I need to wear a hat to the range, it is generally a baseball hat I got for free somewhere, with a fairly inappropriate logo sewn on.
I have a New Kids On The Block patch on one hat, for example. I mean if you’re making a joke, why not make a joke? Why limit yourself to the “approved” humour like “suck meter” or whatever? It’s kind of tired and most people I know don’t ACTUALLY need their jokes to be in subdued hook and loop versions, since most guys (at least in the amateur circles I run in) spend their time at the range, not in the weeds getting shot at.
Naturally if you’re actually out there getting shot at the subdued colour patches make sense and I am not hacking on that.
yep, cause nothing screams “gun” like a douche wearing a earth tone colored hat with patches all over it; at the mall.
