Im 6’3 240 and my large interceptor wont fit with the plates in. Im in decent shape as I power lift two days a week and then either run or hit the elypticals three days. I could lose 5-10 pounds but im more of a solid build and would prefer not to lose muscle mass to fit into my armor. The size issue doesnt make sense since im a large long in cammies and a large long in Second Chance conceable armor.
It drives me nuts that I have a new interceptor and it fits without the plates. If I put the SAPI in then it is too tight.
Can I wear a plate carrier over the interceptor? Does anyone wear a plate carrier without the soft inserts? How about a plate carier over an interceptor? Doesnt seem that much worse than a Molle over an Interceptor.
Will the large Point blank Interceptor pannels fit a carrier that can be adjusted a little larger? I bought this set up for SHTF and home defense(if I have time to put it on). This would give me the option of ditching the Interceptor if I have to hike far. WHo wears the plates instead of the soft armor?

Not sure if my armor is stand alone.
I have a Tactical Armor Products Gamma PLus from 05/04 and its NIJ certified level III at standard 0101.04. Is this stand alone? It does not say if it is or not and doesnt say if it needs to be worn with anything
At 6’3" 240 my guess is you should be wearing an Extra Large or Extra Large/Long IOTV to accommodate XL (11 x 14) SAPI/ESAPI plates.

I don’t run an IOTV/OTV but have XL SPEAR/BALCS for an XL RBAV…and I wouldn’t want any smaller…I could use 11x14 or 10x12 rifle plates…If you go 11x14 make sure that you can still comfortably squeeze an Isosceles if you have to go to the pistola…

I’m 6’1" and 240. I run an XL CIRAS and the fit is tight but side panels overlap. I have worn a concealed low-vis carrier for the soft panels and a plate carrier over the shirt for the plates. An OTV/IOTV with an external plate carrier would be cumbersome. I fell your pain. They make larger OTV’s (XXL) but they are scarce. My opinion is get a low-vis BALCS carrier and run that under your BDU/or whatever shirt with a plate carrier over that. With the new solicitations by the Army/USASOC for new carriers/rbav’s/plate carriers an XXL IOTV will eventually be available. They are made in a large array of sizes. XXL long etc. Hope this helps.
