Hi everyone I have a set of KAC RIS 2-piece hand guards. I installed them last night. They were a bitch, but I got them on. They are the Old style ones that have the locking clamp and locking screw on the front of the guards by the handguard cap not the rear by the Delta Ring. The instructions say to put the locking clamp on top of the handguard cap. They snaped in fine, the Delta Ring looks even all the way aroung. I tightened the screw. But the bottom RIS is a little lose and it Rattles. Does that locking Clamp go inside the Handrail cap against the Gas Tube, I did it the way the Instructions Said from Knight. Please advise, This style of RIS uses the Delta ring to hold the grip snug and not a rear type with the little Ears that go down in the Delta Ring. Anyone hear have this problem?

The bottom rail is loose on some guns. They make an “SAS” bottom rail which also has a locking clamp, and will be as tight as the upper rail section.
I have the exact same problem with my bottom Knight’s Armament handguard. It is loose and shifts from side to side. I’ve about to give up, sell mine and buy one from a different manufacturer. They’re supposed to be top notch however, for the amount of money I paid for mine the rattle is unacceptable. I have a bushmaster rifle btw. I know they are mass produced to put directly on Colts, maybe they fit better in those delta rings? If there is a way to remedy this please let me know so I can correct the problem before selling them.
If the lower rail were not loose, would you be happy with your RAS? For much cheaper than buying a whole new rail system, you can get a UK/SAS bottom rail for the RAS that is rock solid. $97 at Operation Parts.
