I recently got a Badger? tactical switch for the charging handle of my RRA lar15. A problem that I have encountered was with the pin that releases the latch from the CH. The pin looks to be crimped on to the CH and my 1/16 punch tool seems too big to work. Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas on what to do? Thanks!
no one? really?
well, since the goal is to knock out the original roll pin, you can find a small enough nail, file it down so the tip is flat. then wack it out of there. I also suggest swooping up a new roll pin too. once you have removed the pin, it might help to use a pair of vice grips to “squeeze” the roll pin back in.
Can’t do a pic right now but can later. My meaning of crimped is the pin is hollowed out and the top and bottom of it look to be folded into the CH to prevent slipping I imagine. The latch said to use a 1/16 punch to get it out but the tool is too large to fit and I was wondering who else has encountered this prob. Maybe I need to just bang it out with force and say screw it. Does that help? I appreciate the help guys!
+1…
Does the pin fit back into the original place with ease or does it require any other work? Gracias…
Roger, let me make sure on something tho. Will your typical pin punch of the 1/16 size do the trick or do I need the ROLL pin punch? Gracias
thank you sir, I hope it all goes smoothly
