Installation Instructions for Daniel Defense Micro Mount?

I just opened my new Daniel Defense Micro Mount and there were no instructions inside. Does anyone have a copy or know where I could find one? I looked on the DD website but couldn’t find the instructions.

I’m sure DD will be happy to send me one after they return from the holidays, but I was hoping to get my new Aimpoint H2 set up this weekend.

It looks like there are about 4 times as many screws as needed, 4 different lengths x 4 each, plus 4 lock washers and loctite.

Did it not come with the screws? I haven’t messed with one in years but it included the two cross screws that clamp it onto the rail and there are four screws that go through the bottom of the mount and into the sight. I don’t remember if those came with the sight or the mount though.

Its got the mount with the two clamp screws, the lower third adapter, plus 16 screws in 4 different lengths. I could understand two different length screws for with and without the lower third, but 4 lengths? Maybe the different sights take different length screws.

That’s why I’d like to read the instructions.

The longer screws are to be used with the spacer if you wish to a lower 1/3 sight picture. The shorter screws are for an absolute co-witness with iron sights. The washers and loctite are self-explanatory. It’s a nice unit, I have before switching to a Bobro.

Thanks, that makes sense. There are 4 different length screws though, 2 lengths that must be for the spacer and 2 that must be for without.

Are there also different lengths for the H1 and H2 vs. T1 and T2?

The H2 and T2 have deeper mounting holes, so DD may be including slightly longer screws for use with those. I don’t know for certain, though!

I didn’t know that. OP, why don’t you just put the longer screws in and see if they work?

I would caution against using the Loctite until you’re absolutely sure of which setup you like the most. When I switched my H1 to a T1, I stripped three of the four screws (I hate tiny Allen screws). Just my two cents

Great advice. I plan to try out both positions without Loctite and see which I like.

Thanks for the help. It went together super easy once I figured out which set of screws to use. I used the longest screws and set the H2 up first with the lower third spacer.

It seems like a great quality mount and sight.

Raising this one up from the dead to ask if anyone knows a source for the longer screws for lower 1/3rd co-witness
I just picked one up used but didn’t realize it didn’t have the screws for lower 1/3rd
was going to reach out to DD (and that still may be my best option) but their site has been down all day

Contacting them is a good option. I bought a mount, used, that did not come with the lower 1/3 spacer. I told DD as much and asked if I could purchase just the spacer. They asked for my address and sent me the spacer free of charge with an entire set of screws.

Appears their site is backup and running so I contacted them direct through their site.
