This course deals with the tactics of keeping you and your family safe while in your home. The course will make extensive use of tactical simulations and will take place in both tactical simulators and in real homes. A high emphasis will be placed on decision making in role-playing scenarios. The decision making will include both tactical decision making and deadly force decision making while under stress.
Subjects Covered:•Tactical principles, guidelines, and techniques
•Active and passive defense plans
•Establishing security zones
•Communicating within the family and with law enforcement
•Fields of fire
•House searching tactics such as room clearing, and managing danger areas like stairwells, doorways, and hallways
•Use of fighting equipment under limited visibility conditions
•Use of longarms for home defense
•Interaction with assailants
•Interaction with responding emergency personnel and investigating officers
Insights site currently says it will be taught by ‘Insights Staff’ but I’m fairly confident that means either John Holschen (most likely) or Greg Hamilton since AFAIK they teach all the higher level courses.
