Ok so I am thinking about buying an inforce WML for the AR. I understand they have several models and on the inforce website I see an WML (not the WMLx) that has both the continuous on function and the momentary only function. I want one with these 2 functions but when I look elsewhere all I see are ones with momentary only as the only function or a continuous on function with a dimmer setting and a strobe. Am I just really confused? Also, I know that the WMLx has both the momentary only and the full and the strobe. I don’t mind paying the extra coin for this one, but is 500 lumens too bright for inside a house? Big question I know, but any help is appreciated. Thank you.
both the current WML and WMLx function the same. they have a momentary-only setting and a full function setting, which includes the constant on. the WMLx is better suited for outdoors.

I had a WML HSP 200 lumen model for a while, and then sold it.
I bought it to save money so not to have to buy a Surefire, and I like the idea of having a mount and off/on switch built-in to the light rather than having to deal with A light, a mount, and then some kind of tape switch to go with it. I quickly realized though that WML was not for me, I couldn’t find a spot on my rifle that was comfortable to use it. I tried multiple locations and every time I found myself hating having to use the light.
I sold it and got a surefire fury, SR07 switch, and a HSP SBR light mount and haven’t looked back.
IMO the HSP WML is a really good flashlight, that being said I do not think it is a good weapon light.
As a lefty shooter, I tried the 12 and 3 first, then I had a offset rail I tried to use, still couldn’t get it comfortable for myself. I tried the 6 o’clock and using my knuckle to activate it with a VFG, then reaching around the rail with VGF removed with the light at the 9 o’clock.
Every time it would have to loose my grip on the rifle while trying to use the light, to give up ability to use the rifle reliably to use the light is a bad trade-off in my book. It was too forced.

You should have said it just didn’t work for you not that it is a bad weapon light. I run mine on a Haley offset mount and the position is perfect for thumb activation. We are all different.
I have been very happy with the WML and WMLx. Excellent lights and with an offset mount you can achieve almost perfect placement. I am right handed and have only used it from that standpoint.
As I said “IMO” meaning In My Opinion, or my experience, I’m not saying that it can’t work for some one else. I was stating how it worked for me. In my experiences I do think it is not a well functioning weapon light, but I did think it was a good flash light due to its compact size I found myself pocket carrying the light for a few months and loved it in that respect.
And as for the battery issue I used mine a lot, for over a year I think it was, never noticed any degradation in battery life. Nor did I ever have to change the battery.
I haven’t had any battery issues. It is stored in the safe with the “bracket” over the switch and the cap turned slightly counterclockwise. I’m still on the same set of batteries for well over a year.
No battery issues on my end and I don’t lock out the light by turning the cap a half turn. If you are looking for a lightweight CQB light its an awesome option, the only other I have fallen in love with is the Arisaka scout body and mount.
For Indoors, 200 lumens is fine. Lighting up parts of your back yard it’s fine. Mine has the dual function. Momentary of on/off/strobe. https://dsgarms.com/inf-wml-w
I have the BCM KMR rail and a BCM keymod 1913 light mount,
If I was still working and using my carbine, I would use a Scout 300 or 600 with remote switches.
I was thinking about this as a simple light, as I’m not a heavy duty user. Just something simple and low maintenance (yet reliable) for HD type application.
HSP had a combo light and keymod mount package, so I ordered it this afternoon.
My first AR-mounted light, so I will see how she works. Figure for the price, I get the light and mount, so can always change one or the other if it doesn’t work out.
