You will of course note that only female persons can be charged with infanticide and only female persons are to receive not more than five years. Male persons cannot, by definition, commit infanticide in Canada.
They commit murder and face the possibility of life imprisonment.
Let’s accept that as fair, reasonable, intelligent, compassionate and entirely appropriate. Women who murder infants are not entirely liable for their conduct as a consequence of biological circumstance.
Why then should we have any women in positions of responsibility? If they cannot be held accountable for abdicating that responsibility based on hormonal fluctuations AKA the simple fact of being a woman, why would we ever entrust them with decision-making powers that have the potential to cause serious harm?
How can you argue both sides?
Women should be given special treatment in courts of law for the most heinous of crimes, while men face execution for the same crimes because women are biologically different from men and that serves as justification for leniency.
These are the little capitulations that drive Marxist reformations, we stumble about through our daily lives, oblivious as to just how far we’ve already plunged into the abyss, yet once in awhile the beast stares back at us, such is the case in this linked essay…You should consume every word of it!
Very good post and article. Our political and legal system is rife with hypocrisy. Unfortunately we accepted that a candidate should not be judged by his character, and now apparently we should neither consider his past record or lack thereof. We have been trained to only judge by the proffered sound bite.
What we get us piecemeal legislation that appeals to protected classes when it suits them but has no moral or logical integrity.
At some point it begs to wonder if whether or not the best thing that can happen to us is for some large celestial body to just smash into the planet and end it all.
There have been quite a few times I’ve pondered how much better off the planet would be if humans didn’t exist… Sadly, it is the species that was tasked with caring for the earth that is destroying it.
This is not a thread about abortion. We have plenty of those that all seem boil down to when human life begins. This is a thread about killing born infants.
As incredible as it is to believe, there are in fact those who think the best course of action for defeating the Nazis is to become a Nazi.
And no matter how many times, or in how many different ways, you try to explain that the ‘If you are against slavery, or against the extermination of the Jews, then don’t own slaves, or exterminate Jews, LOL. But as distasteful as that may be to you personally, I am fine with it because I believe people should be free to make their own bad decisions and live with them.’ is as a political “strategy” intended to protect freedom and liberty, is about as hair-brained as it gets, you might as well be trying to warn rocks of high-tide.
It is in fact the moral relativism of that view that first led to the removal of laws protecting the right to life of the unborn, and is also now leading to arguing for legalized infanticide. But hey, if you are against infanticide, just don’t do it.
And think on this, because as someone with a degree in philosophy I think it more than a little important. The most intellectual expounders of the right to keep and bear arms, those who make the case, as our Founders did, from the position of First Principles, Natural Law, and objective reality, (such as Sobran or Alan Keyes http://www.declarationalliance.org) are pro-life. And that is for the sole reason that the exact same Natural Law First Principles that are the foundation of one, are the foundation of both.
No people, no nation, no culture, and no civilization, in all of human history, has ever traversed the road of moral relativism and found liberty at its end.
