Improved M4-1000 Locking system. Your opinion?

Alright so bear with me here guys. I know I am going to be told the M4-1K spring system is fine but this is more of a peace of mind thing for me so don’t flame to much.

My M4-1000 backs off a few notches and after a while I have trouble tightening it back up due to heat.

So I was thinking of this.

A thin band with a tension lock system. It would have small teeth or a peg that would fit into the slot for the spring and press the spring harder into the teeth and keep it from slipping.

So this brings me to two questions.
1: Would this cause any issues with the Suppressor. I don’t see how it would but I understand my knowledge is very limited.

2: What are your thoughts on the legal implications. I have heard conflicting opinions on if this would be a part of the suppressor or not and therefore under NFA purview.

Your thoughts?

How would this be any different than a mount, cover or other add-on? The clamp causes no sound reduction, nor is it part of the original suppressor. I would suspect the same legal implications as when painting a suppressor, which are zero.

Sounds good.

I’d do it. You could even remove the spring and just have the teeth on this new ‘band’ engage the mount…
