I'm Voting democrat

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe the government
will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe white people need
to spend their time at the back of the bus.

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe three or four pointy headed elitist liberals need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would NEVER get their agendas past the voters.

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe that paying $4.00
a gallon or more is no reason to drill for the mountain of oil we are sitting on in THIS country. We wouldn’t want to have to move a couple of Polar bears now would we?

I’m voting Democrat because: when we pull out of Iraq, I
trust that the bad guys will stop what they’re doing because they now think we’re good people.

I’m voting Democrat because: I like it when planes fly into buildings full of civilians. I want to see more of that.

I’m voting Democrat because: I don’t want a stimulus check to spend. Let the government spend it for me.

I’m voting Democrat because: freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I’m voting Democrat because: I love the fact that I can now marry
whatever I want. I’m going to marry my Brother.

I’m voting Democrat because: I’m not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I’m voting Democrat because: I don’t want to eat poison food and drink dirty water. We all know Republicans love that stuff. Ever wonder why the most left wing country in the World (China ) is the most polluted?

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe that when the
terrorists don’t have to hide from us over there, when they come over here I don’t want to have any guns in the house to fight them off with.

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe that churches
should only be allowed for political speeches.

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe that business
should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the employees…

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe that I don’t
want Doctors who were at the top of their classes to operate on me. I want a government employee who makes $50k a year and couldn’t hack it as a contractor or an engineer.

I’m voting Democrat because: I believe that people who
can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius…

I’m voting Democrat because: I REALLY believe there is no bias in the media. I’m All for CHANGE!!!

You all know I’m kidding right?

That was some of the finest use of irony I’ve seen on any firearms forum.

You must be a mick.

Its beautiful!!!
And sadly too close to the truth:(

Perfect description of dimocrats.

It is so funny, because it is so close to the truth

It is so close to the truth, it is very, very scary!!!

Well done sir!!!

i vote to raise money so that we can buy some cable air time, and you can broadcast this 24-7. to arms brothers

I cringe every time something like this gets posted.

Fellow conservatives, I hold you to a higher standard.

Why?

You do realize he’s kidding?

Irony? Pooh. You converted me, I’m voting Dem also. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well my quote was edited, but my point was that for every list like this that goes around about liberals there’s another one for conservatives. I think we should take the “high road” instead of going tit for tat with the left. Let rational arguments and maturity speak for themselves.

I don’t understand what’s not rational about using a little irony. There is a long tradition of this on BOTH sides. It was far less hyperventilation than people like Hannity and O’Reilly (or Begala/Carville for that matter) engage in AND it was a clever and humorous way of poking holes in the liberal pretense which relies on two salient dishonesties:

  1. That government CAN solve all your problems.

  2. That government SHOULD solve all your problems.

He wasn’t:

  1. Telling falsehoods.

  2. Making personal attacks.

Even still politics isn’t softball.

What high road do you mean?

Sorry but I see no “higher standard” in laying down…and it certainly won’t get us anywhere in November.

Fair enough John, just putting in my .03c (.02c adjusted for inflation  )

The man’s got a point, and a damned good one.

Irrespective of the political point of view, such lists are equally funny (which isn’t to say they’re funny) and equally stoopid.

Well, that’s not gonna happen, if only because “maturity” is in short supply among American voters.

Irrational fears and puerile humor grab more votes than “rational arguments” ever will. It’s why they call it “talk radio” and not “think radio.”

lol :). Great piece

Excellent post! I take the Townhall mag and liked it there too.

I’m no fan of many right wing pundits, any more than left wing ones. I think you’ve seen enough of my criticism of the former to know that I’m not a knee-jerk conservative.

While I may not totally agree with everything on the list, much of it cut clear to the bone…and was quite accurate in highlighting the stoopidity of many democratic positions. Satire has a long tradition in politics.

I don’t totally agree with Jonathan Swift either, and much of his satire was indeed “puerile” according to the standards of the day. In fact he made a point of poking holes at others’ pretensions…much like the list above. In fact such satire is often MORE useful (not to mention intelligent) than simple name-calling.

I’m not sure I understand what is so objectionable…no one was called a nazi and nothing was said that was untrue.

The best thing about independent critical thought is being able to see the wisdom (and the idiocy) in all points of view. When I read the original post, it struck me as nothing more than an overburdened chestnut tree.

i[/i]

I’d agree every point of view has stupidity (we are human after all).

I’d disagree that every point of view has wisdom.

Following an idea to its inevitable, logical conclusion reveals a point of view for what it is.

It’s invariably a good thing to see the forest for the trees.

Only one word is needed to describe anyone voting Democrat this time around—FOOL.

Yes, overburdened, but almost exclusively with facts. Maybe you would dispute some of them?

And yes, we could do the same with the Republicans, but the branches would not be nearly as strained.

He’s just telling it like it is.
