Sorry, just venting for just a bit about eBay.
I listed a couple of holsters for auction a few days ago and they just cancelled my auctions for
The was removed because it violated the eBay Firearms, Weapons, and Knives policy. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.
Well, I checked and eBay does allow holsters under the examples of permitted items!
Permitted
All other gun accessories, including, but not limited to, trigger guards, stocks, butt plates, pistol grips, holsters, storage cases, grips, cleaning supplies, cases, racks, slings, dies, molds and scopes. Listings for such items must clearly state the type of firearm for which the part or accessory is designed. If this information is not provided, the listing may be ended.
I’ve had enough of eBay and am considering cancelling them and PayPal. I just need to cool off some since they are both my wife’s accounts. :o
Edit: The least you could have done was to put this in the right forum. Besides surely you know by now egay is anti-gun so you should not be suprised when they delete gun related auctions no matter what policy they state. Hell for that matter why not put them up for sale on a gun board anyway, most are free where you have to pay for ebay auctions. Would seem like the common sense route to me.
Did you “clearly state the type of firearm for which the part or accessory is designed”? If not, that is the only reason I can see where eBay would be able to end your item, unless their policy has changed since you posted that list of permitted items. I’d be pissed, too.
I sure did! The type of firearm was in both the title and body. I checked their policy this morning to see if I missed something, but I was in total compliance.
I’ve sent them an e-mail to find out more. Honestly, at this point I’d rather they just close the remainder of my auctions, refund my money, and I’ll take my business elsewhere (i.e., Gunbroker).
I sell some stuff here on M4C, but I don’t want to abuse the privilege.
E-bay canceled one of my non-firearms related listing because they received word (from someone also selling same item) from someone that it was “copyright infringement,” which it clearly was not if E-bay even looked at the listing.
But it’s “okay” to sell fake Chinese-made Emmerson knives, Aimpoints, etc.
It has gotten to the point that I won’t buy off eBay unless the auction includes the factory box and documentation (at least the Chinese aren’t duplicating that, yet).
