I sold my Colt 20" HBAR (along with an old Bushmaster) earlier this year to fund my Noveskes.

Wasn’t easy to part with those carbines I had had for so long, but man my Noveskes are beauties, and great shooters.

But when I was cruising the classifieds, and saw a NIB LE6920 at a steal of a price, I knew I couldn’t resist. I knew I would kick myself if I passed on a deal like that. Well anyways, she came home today:

Got a big pile of MAGPUL in FDE to dress her up a bit, will update when she’s done.

Looks fine just like she is… maybe change out the pistol grip and install a Gapper…

I don’t disagree, like her as is, but having been wanting to do an FDE, so seems like a good chance to try it out.

Wow, it’s hard to believe that’s how mine started out it’s life, they grow up so quick.

I agree with The_Katar you should leave her as is. I had forgotten how nice and simplistic that rifle is out of the box (and how lightweight). This is making me want to get a new Colt and leave it stock. Thinking about getting a 6520, that way I’m prevented from messing with it… for the most part.

If you don’t mind me asking how much you paid for it; i’m looking to buy one right now and everyone is quoting 1300 or higher NIB. I’m hoping to get one cheaper. If you don’t feel comfortable telling me; no worries :slight_smile:

How did you like your Colt Hbar? I already have two carbines (BCM, & LMT), but have always wanted a 20" Colt and have the opportunity to buy complete Colt A2 upper for $500 right now. It would just be a nastalgia/range gun.

I loved the HBAR, was a great shooter. But what I didn’t like about it was the weight, and the fixed carry handle. Combine this with the fact it was pre-ban and I could sell it for a profit, made the decision much easier.

Yeah, it definitely wouldn’t be my choice for a first or second AR, but I still think I want one.

I have an opportunity to buy a Colt preban HBAR 1/7(1980s) like the one you sold. If you don’t mind me asking what do you think I should offer him? Gun looks like it was never fired but bone dry.

I would leave it as is also. I have an 11.5" Bushmaster that I had a railed hand guard, vert grip, light, optic on. One day I just decided to put it back to original. It’s lite weight and easy to manuever. I do have a set of Trijicon irons on it.
