This looks like someone who shouldn’t have been wearing a badge let alone working with the public. H was a walking time bomb that was going to snap sometime. There’s going to be a march today in Chicago. Since he was charged, I’m guessing the city won’t burn but I expect this is a powder keg waiting to happen right before the DNC. One more use of force here that’s questionable and we will see Chicago burn again, even during the DNC.
I wonder how that guy got hired?
You know perhaps I was being BS’ed but I was always told anything less than an “Honorable” and you would be handed a shovel to dig ditches.
As a guy who’s had his brushes with UCMJ, but still managed to retire from the Army, I’m a bit confused how anyone wopuld hand anyone with less than an “Honorable Discharge” a weapon and send them amoung the Citizens.
Crazy shouldnt slip through that many cracks.
Chicago is home to a bunch of leftists shits. Let it burn.
That turd of a cop was 100% in the wrong and should hang, but it surprises me not one bit that the totalitarian leftists running the show in every part of Illinois would hire a thug like that.
So you’ve got a candidate for a LEO job that has a less than Honorable Discharge with a couple of DUI’s.
No matter how you look at it, this guy has/had issues with authority in the military and issues with alcohol.
Now, why would you be surprised by this guy being an issue?
Edit to add;
You can’t go in to work with a hangover and shoot a lady in the face.
“Macoupin County State’s Attorney Jordan Garrison confirmed that police found a gun in the center console, but Grayson did not face a weapons charge because he was a resident of Fort Riley, Kansas. Kansas has an open-carry firearms law.”
Curious as to whether that was an error or someone was being dishonest.
The good cops must have left Chicago by the close of the 19th century.
Not mentioned in this article, but a movie about police corruption was targeted by this outfit due to concerns it would draw more attention to what the day to day activities of Chicago PD actually were.
There have always been good and bad cops because they hire “people” and there is no 100% effective way to screen who will be what. And sometimes good cops become bad cops for whatever reason.
But you know what I’m talking about. With crap like BLM, defund the police and the actual targeting of LEOs a lot of guys figured out they can make the same money being the store manager at McDonalds and they asked themselves why am I killing myself and left.
Lots of people have successfully created an environment where only the bad cops are mentioned and the LEOs who do their job correctly, and even the ones who go above and beyond, are ignored. In our major cities which have additional problems that make effective, community policing even harder the situation is generally worse.
It is common for le involved in incidents like this to have a history that foreshadowed how they became well known.
It is true police are people which needs to be front and center at the start instead of only after an incident like this one.
The big change in things was video and the ability to share it becoming widely available. Up until then, most of the bad just didn’t happen according to the powers that be and supporters.
Praise and criticism is like most other occupations.
Those who go above and beyond doing good do get recognized.
Those doing the job up to advertised standards aren’t likely to get recognized.
Those who injure or kill through negligence or intent are going to get recognized also, probably much more so than average to excellent.
Chicago is a major city with an extremely corrupt city government(since long before either of us were born) and the police are, and have always been, an integral part of that corruption.
So to me it’s like the fact that there are something like 82 million gun owners in the US, yet the want to make the school shooters representative of gun owners. It’s BS because if even 1% of gun owners were involved in school shootings there wouldn’t be any kids left alive.
I also think body cams save more good cops than anything else, if I was a cop I’d never turn mine off. It’s everyone else’s phone footage that is selectively edited to try and show everyone else as the bad guy. In some cases it’s true, but in most cases it’s not. And when it does happen it’s a good thing because those people do not need to be working as LEOs.
I have never seen, or even heard of, any 2A supporter assisting a school shooter in action in any way or defend a school shooter’s actions after the fact. Typically the responses from 2A supporters are variants of wishing the school shooter had died sooner, hoping they had a painful death, wished they had been there to drop them, and so on
Seen plenty of le support egregious acts by le on scene and after the fact including the murder of Massey by deputy grayson. It isnt “all”, but it certainly isn’t a tiny percentage either.
I don’t recall seeing any cops ever wish had been there to drop the bad cop and any mentions of private citizens using force to defend themselves from an unlawful attack by le typically gets it pointed out other le responding would be trying to eliminate the victim who fought back.
Why Grayson was hired in the first place is a reasonable question. In Illinois, when LEO positions open up statewide, very few people apply due to current politics. A lot of potentially good police officers are not seeking the jobs. I believe standards are being lowered to fill positions that are left vacant by those who are retiring and people moving to the private sector to make more money.
The buzz is that a lot of LEO are retiring early due to the current political climate. Departments cannot select candidates only from the cream of the crop due to the lack of qualified applicants.
