If I were buying right now I’d try and snag the DD rifle. Most of the stuff it comes with is stuff I’d buy anyway, so it’s convenient and the price is right.
I think for right at $1k, you would be hard pressed to find a better gun for the money than putting together a BCM like this:
BCM Upper
BCM BCG
BCM Lower
plastic handguards
DD Rear sight
Daniel Defense M4 is probibly the best bang for the buck period, after that Colt, and LMT are both great guns, and in the lower spectrum of price but still of good quality S&W. As others have said building a BCM upper and lower would be good too.
By all accounts the Dd is a good gun from top-shelf parts from a great company.
BUT, if it’s not the collection of parts that you want or need, it may not be the ideal purchase and you may over-pay for parts you don’t want/need.
