Thanks, Congress. I’d hate for you to actually do your jobs and stop an illegal presidential executive order granting amnesty to people who are breaking the law to even stand on our soil.
Explain to me again why we have three branches of government if the Congress is simply going to sign off on whatever President Barry does?
Why did we vote en masse for Repulicans when it looks like they’ll just go along with Obama like the Democrats?
Anyone care to take bets that the so-called “effort” in Congress to block the M855 ban will end up like the Amnesty fight?
How about the SCOTUS and the new challenge to Obamacare based on the federal subsidies being illegal? Anyone care to bet that if John Roberts is again the deciding vote that he will dream up some sort of “excuse” why it’s legal? What’s the deal, Roberts? NSA got videos of you and a hamster or something?

The only people that want amnesty as much as the Democrats are the Republicans.
While their reasons for wanting illegals here may differ, they both want illegals here. Add to that the need to pander to the hispanic vote, which has become a powerful voting block due to things like previous amnesties, and this is one of the few issues where Congress actually agrees even if they say otherwise.
And that is why I’m inclined to agree with a libertarian “open border” policy but with the removal of any social benefits or programs. We pretty much already have an open border and it doesn’t seem that anyone is prepared to actually change that in any meaningful way.
I’d prefer to secure and enforce the border, but I don’t see that actually happening.
If you lived in a border state…you’d change your tune on being for an open border.
If DC was located where San Antonio is…we’d have nipped this problem decades ago.
i swear…I travel one state away and I hardly see any Latin peoples at all and never hear Spanish spoken. Yes…I go into Louisiana quite often and am amazed at how few illegals I see anywhere. Even in Baton Rouge or New Orleans. I figure up on the east coast…they don’t address the problem because they barely see an illegal. LOL
It is getting much worse in texas. Our Troopers are now being sent down to the border pretty frequently. I believe the other week they even put out a rush on hiring 500 more troopers just to help stem the continuing problem.
Since I travel from Houston to New Orleans quite often…I am always amazed at the lack of hiapanics I see in NOLA compared to Houston. I almost never hear Spanish spoken in that city, either. No billboards or ATMs in Spanish in NOLA as well.
I am pretty sure if I traveled another state or two away from TX and LA…this would amplify. No wonder why DC and many east coasters don’t have a problem with the illegals from south of the border…they rarely see them!
A few years back I saw tons of these folks in Long Island. In Mississippi I’ve seen many in localities with chicken plucking places, but for some reason, Hispanics in Mississippi are not politically active, but the woods are full of them. Actually they are a valuable addition to the labor force because 50% of the state’s population are disabled in various ways including obesity and retardation.
The “ultra-tough” AZ immigration law that was challenged by the Obama administration was modeled after legislation which came from my county just outside of DC. We’ve got a MASSIVE illegal immigration issue on the east coast.
It’s just that theres more than enough white guilt to keep anyone from doing anything about it.
Y’all haven’t been paying attention much…you can vote any which way makes you happy, -the resulting government actions will not have any bearing on how you pulled the lever.
