if you had to chose.....GMX, MK318 or a Soft Point

since i’m an ammo hound, i’m trying to get a good understanding of these types of rounds…GMX vs soft points like gold dots and fusion…

is it safe to assume that solids achieve the same effect of mushrooming just like SP’s but have the added effect of being more barrier blind than SP’s? i use GMX as my option because on dont want to use the pure copper TSX bullet.

and the mk318 is a completely different creature since its part fragmentation round, part barrier blind wad cutter with its solid copper base pushing on through. its like a hybrid m193 at its tip and part GMX/TSX at its base.not sure that would be the round i would want since the base is just going to poke a 22 cal hole.

just trying to make the best choice in buying a case of one of these types for a rainy day situation. price isnt really an issue.

i do tend to lean toward the GMX 55gr since its close to m193 that i do have stock on and from limited testing at 100 yds, it prints really close to federal xm193 out of most of my barrels.

thanks for any input.
