If McCain Wins It's Racisim?

I love these entrenched dishonesties that the left brings up every four years.

There can’t be any possible reason for us to reasonably disagree with Obama’s policies or record, so therefore if we vote for McCain we’re a bunch of bigots that want to take over the world.

 Who knew?

From the article:

McCain represents a Cold War style of nationalism that doesn’t get the shift from geopolitics to geoeconomics, the centrality of soft power in a multipolar world, or the transformative nature of digital technology.

lol11!1

Interesting that Bad Vlad just took the rest of the world to school concerning their ideas of “geoeconomics” and “soft power in a multipolar world”… and speaking of digital technology, wasn’t it the Obama campaign that botched the announcement of their VP candidate via text message?

I disagree with the premise, at least as it’s cast in the subhead of the piece:

“Racism is the only reason McCain might beat him.”

Had author Weisberg stepped back from his extremism, saying perhaps, “Race is a major reason…” I’d be inclined to concede the point. It squares with my experience, anyway.

As it stands, though……I mean, nothing grows at the poles.

quote]It would be taken for what it would be: sign and symptom of a nation’s historical decline.[/quote]

That may be the most retarded statement I’ve ever heard.

They’re like goldfish…they only live in the here and now.

He must be 12.

I’d agree that race plays some role, but you can’t escape human nature. Additionally having prejudices is different than using your intellect to see past them to the individual.

Personally my dislike of Obama has nothing to do with race. Were the author’s point valid, it would swing both ways. I don’t think this is the case. Had the Democrats nominated Colin Powell, I’d have been very hard pressed to vote against him.

I’m not sure he really represents the polar fringe as he is an editor for slate. He’s probably just expressing an often silent bias against conservatives. :o

Forty some-odd years ago, Martin Luther King, Jr. stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and expressed his dream that some day in America, his children would not be judged on the color of thier skin, but by the content of their character. And that’s why I can stand today, and say that no matter Sen. Obama’s race, religion, or creed, he’s still a clueless socialist moron with no grasp on reality.

but he talks real perty :o

Having grown up in a conservative racist pre '94 National Party controlled South Africa, if I had obtained my US citizenship and was empowered to vote in this election, I would gladly have voted for Colin Powell or Condi Rice - had they been nominated, without blinking an eye.
Race has nothing to do with it!!
Experience and a proven track record is what counts.
Obama has neither . . . being eloquent and black does not earn a vote.

An interesting observation

whites who won’t vote for Obama are racists . . .

blacks who will vote for Obama purely because of his skin color (and otherwhise would have stayed home) are not racists??? . . .

go figure

That bears remembering, for sure. With all sincerity, LOKNLOD, thanks for the reminder.

The same things were said about Dr. King.

Like Dr. King, Sen. Obama is an eloquent orator who’s captured the attention and the imagination of a significant number of Americans. Beyond that, I won’t dare to compare.

In my opinion, and speaking as someone who opposes Sen. Obama’s candidacy, he’s not a “clueless socialist moron” – he’s a smart and savvy Democrat with a record that favors liberal political positions. Far from being “clueless,” he sees the same clues I do and advocates solutions with which I disagree, in some cases vehemently disagree.

Same old song and dance, playing the race card. More than 600,000 Americans died during the civil war fighting for freedom. Some people will never appreciate it.

Fair enough – to be honest I just wanted a quick jab at the end of an otherwise eloquent(ish) statement  I have to admit I giggle at the thought of someone managing to pull that ambush off in the middle of one of Obama’s public photo-ops…

But, while I’m tracking what you’re saying, Obama is a finely polished speaker with good public appeal, but is far from the eloquent orator that MLK was – BO’s words lack the sincerity, truth, and gravity of MLK’s. I’ve studied MLK enough to understand somewhat his beliefs and the context in which he developed and held them, which is far more than I can say for Mr. Obama…of course time will tell. Perhaps someday Obama’s picture will hang alongside, Washington, Jefferson, Reagan and King in my dad’s office (of his mechanic shop) but I find that highly unlikely

I could still contend that based on the solutions he advocates, he is likely to be either clueless, or a moron, at least one the two. He is either seeing very different clues or interpreting them in a manner very much disconnected with reality. If neither of those is the case, then my next set of allegations involve dishonesty and malicious intent, and I hesitate to give him that much credit.

On topic, I know it will happen if he loses (probably not by him, but by others for sure) but I think it’s spit on Dr. King’s grave to for that community to keep hopping along on the race card. King and countless others sacrificed to the goal of freeing men from bearing their race as a burden, not to supply them a crutch for all future failures.

We’re on exactly the same page here, LOKNLOD.

History will confer whatever it confers. I make no predictions.

McCain represents a Cold War style of nationalism that doesn’t get the shift from geopolitics to geoeconomics, the centrality of soft power in a multipolar world, or the transformative nature of digital technology.

That is exactly why I am voting for him!

And “Soft Power”? Phft! We just saw a demonstration of the hopless impotence of Soft Power when Russia invaded Georgia. All the EU, the mecca of Soft Power, could do was sit uselessy by and issue proclimations; meanwhile, the Russian tanks rolled into yet another country.

As for Economics and Technology, so what? Most of those decisions are out of the hands of the Presidency anyways, and besides that is what advisors are for.

What a stupid article.

Charles Krauthammer on “Soft Power”

What a stupid article.

And McCain seems to have better technology advisors and definitely better economic advisors

Are you referring to the war that is briefly mentioned in February during BHM that 99 out of 100 high school students would tell you was about ending slavery…? I agree some people will never appreciate history because the facts don’t fit into their view of reality.

I be willing to bet that only 75/100 high school students could correct identify what sides were fighting, let alone why.

Those numbers would not work in many places since our “Civil War” happened in the 1800’s and many of there’s are still taking place.

so long as he stays on script. The moment he deviates from the script he is his own worse enemy. I think I speak for many (in fact a majority of this nation) when I say that in this day and age would couldn’t care less about the skin color of a candidate. But God forbid the media ever realizes this. God forbid it be recognized by the MSM that we see Obama for what he is and that is what drives our opinion.

Well said.

Playing the race card is backfiring in some circles. LEOs no matter what their race tend to be politically conservative. Many of my coworkers who are black say that they have been told by other black people that they MUST vote for Obama because of his race. Because of this racial pressure, they are extremely outspoken AGAINST Obama. One of the co-workers in that group is even convinced Obama is the anti-christ.

Me, I just disagree with his political views. I don’t think sending $750 billion to Africa will help the U.S. economy. Google the “Global poverty bill.”
