Fucking spot on. You cannot compare two extremely different countries that differ in population size, culture, and our inner city gang problems and culture of violence. I guaran-fucking-tee you, remove the inner city stats and our crime rates drop considerably to almost nonexistent levels (when measured as a % against the whole population).
Edit: Until that problem is recognized, and addressed, nothing will happen. The problem must first be recognized at a national level, much more in depth than it is now.

Unfortunately, I have known so many liberals that cannot be reasoned with because they are driven mostly by emotion. It seems to cloud their
ability to interpret the facts to arrive at a logical conclusion. Some of them seem to have had their minds made up and do not want to expend any effort on thinking about the topic. I would still prefer to gain as much useful information as I can in order to attempt to sway them, inch by inch.

The anti-gun types must have a difficult time ignoring the correlation between the increased issuance of concealed carry permits over the last 20 or so years and the decrease in crime. It is so obvious.
Someone posted this video last week on Facebook and I thought it was great. I hate to profile but at first glance he “looks” like your typical coffee house liberal! This is exactly who we need promoting facts to the media.

He definitely impresses me as the guy who gives tours at a college, but then he busts out this excellent attitude about firearms. Clean-cut, no fear-mongering, just what we need as a public face.
…however, we cannot let rest the fact that we shouldn’t have to justify and rationalize a right. That’s bullshit. More needs to be said about the importance of firearms ownership as a safety mechanism against tyranny. We arm rebels in foreign nations to overthrow tyrants…we fight wars (supposedly to spread democracy/western values) with guns. Why should the average AMERICAN in the freest nation on earth be denied the weapons that any punk in any 3rd world country can buy for the cost of a small farm animal?

Just emailed to 8 or so local TV news stations. From general managers to on the street guys. As well as our local pro 2A radio.

Washington Post had something where they compared NIH grants for research to numbers of cases of X virus, or whatever.
They listed 4,000,000 gun injuries and 3 NIH grants.
Anyone know the source? Based on FBI crime stats, there is no way that 4,000,000 rings true unless we are counting stupid shit, like grandpa slamming his pinkie in the action and going to the ER for a “gun related” injury, or I was shooting steel, and a jacket came back and sliced my leg, or whatever…

I put money on bold faced lie. They’ll print a retraction in a few weeks somewhere deep in the paper where it will never be seen.
Honestly, 4 million seems like a bold faced lie if you consider the whole of planet earth.
That’s my gut reaction too. I just can’t see it being anything of consequence, and most likely an attempt to have people who don’t know better say…
“See cholera has 25,000 cases with 240 grants for research. Why do gun injuries at 4,000,000 only get 3 grants?”
