I don’t know the protocol for posting youtube videos, so correct me if I am doing something wrong.
I posted comments in the comment section of the video, I was in the middle of this project. I was slated for being an officer in the new unit we said should have been created. Then once it was up and running, when it came time for Sholmo Baum to hang off command, I would have taken over command. The unit would have been the most important anti terror unit in Israel. Looking back the timing would have been, I would have command of the unit for about 9 to 10 months before day 1 of the intifada.
But Sharon who 100% backed us, was out and that was the end of it.
Then in the middle of the first intifada in 100% pure panic, the idiots took one idea from a multi hundred page document and then misused it, that being the Ruger 10-22’s. The idea was to create cripples out of the ring leaders, for cripples are the most abused people in the Palestinian society. We would have broke the back of the intifada before it gathered steam.
What optic would have been issued? Didn’t realize that physical weakness is preyed upon by the Palestinians. Is that a trait unique to Palestinian militants or other Muslim groups?
I want to clear up it isn’t the terrorist only that view defective people as not worth anything it is the whole Palestinian society. I also thing it is the greater Arab society as well.
Regarding optic for the gun, I honestly don’t remember what we thought about using. If I remember correctly the one we got our hands on for testing had a fixed 4 power scope on it.
Don’t forget that the Palestinian leadership rewarded the guys that dug the tunnels with execution so that they won’t reveal the tunnel locations. Their value of life apparently isn’t too high.
I remember hearing in the 90s that Israel was using 10/22s as a sniper rifle but without any context. I was seriously at a loss to understand their sniper program and just assumed they were kinda “idiots” when it came to some stuff. I thought they were trying to do something like long distance precise head shots with little or no collateral damage in a crowd.
If you die, you are glorious. If you are wounded, obviously Allah thinks you deserve to suffer and everyone should shun you.
Honor in your understanding of the word is incompatible with islam. Japanese honor codes are closer to our own and even those can require some mental gymnastics to wrap your brain around.
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I knew about the .22lr usage because a former boss and their family talked about it. I was not so sure about the m1 carbine, beyond the fact some folks used them for protection, which impressed a friend of mine when he went on his first trip. He owns one and the man on the bus pulling guard/tour guide duty used one; so, they bonded over that fact.
Being a disabled person I find it sad they treat such people poorly. A measuring stick of civilization could be based upon how well the elderly and infirm are treated.
In the context of becoming crippled due to fighting for you and yours. I find it even more deplorable that such folks are despised. That does go against everything I was raised to believe. A man who endured life changing wounds in battle is to be respected. After-all he put it all on the line for everybody and their betterment. I guess being resource poor changes a culture? Or does this attitude stretch back to biblical times? (I mean the time period and not religion)
One question that kinda puts a monkey wrench in that psyop. Don’t they use the handicapped, mentally impaired, and terminally ill for suicidal terrorist attacks? I read a article once during the Iraq war that they were using people with aids for suicide bombers. Give them like a fun day, strap them up, and then send them off to die or some evil garbage.
Islam is very much “Allah’s will” so whenever anything happens, it was the will of god and there must be a good reason. Everything in Islam is about acceptance of “Allah’s will”, the word itself means “submission.” So if you find food, but your house burns down and the neighboring village steal your children it ALL must accepted as “God’s will” and he must be praised.
This is why they are “Allah Akbar” all day long no matter what is happening. Ironically, Buddhist can be pretty close to this mindset. IF somebody is born handicapped, they feel compassion but at the same time believe that person is suffering because of what they did in a former life and this is their karmic punishment.
What it comes down to is the oldest civilizations weren’t terribly civilized and if they haven’t undergone some kind of renaissance in thinking, they are still as messed up as people were thousands of years ago when murder, rape and victimizing the weak were just the name of the game. We view the Greeks and the Romans through a friendly lens and remember only the accomplishments that were good, but at the same time they thought being triumphant over your enemies was how you proved yourself to the gods, nobody cared about right and wrong…only who won…because obviously that person had the favor of the gods.
So I have two of them. You hear three clicks, the discharge, the bolt and the impact of the round. All three make about the same amount of noise even when shooting subsonic. “Pew pew” only happens in Hollywood.
Bolt action .22lr would make for a very quiet rifle suppressed. The first time I ever had any experience with a suppressed .22lr was a marlin model 60, and the bolt clacking, what I called the noise of it, surprised me with how loud it was cycling. Granted that noise was nowhere near the sound of a unsuppressed rifle, and part of the reason why it stuck out so much for me was due to the surprise of it. But if I was going for as quiet as possible it would be a bolt action or break action rifle; however, those lack the utility of a semiautomatic rifle for follow up shots. I still need to get a can one day.
