Here it is. I’m apparently not the only one that heard the rumors (some of which an actual ATF agent let slip to a family member), but the ATF is indeed digitizing in the same searchable manner as I stated a few months back. The change in 4473 served no purpose but to make it easier to do so. Here’s MrGunsandGear breaking it down:
With today’s technology it’s pretty obvious that the government knows EVERYTHING you have.
If Home Depot knows about the 3/4" conduit I bought because they can connect my Debit Card with my email I am sure the government knows about the magazines I ordered online.
The Government does what ever they want. They just suppress lie and deny. Then if it makes it to a legal proceeding the sling words around like intent, and have lawyers and judges jerk each other off. All the while it just becomes the norm. We The People just eventually acclimate.
The fact that they are digitizing / aka “going paperless” with the 4473s in their possession changes nothing. It’s more efficient than having them alphabetically organized but does nothing to generate “completeness.” That is the BIG, BIG PART you continue to understand. They have nothing like a master database.
On the last thread I gave you the number of firearm transactions compared to the number of 4473s they had on file. Go re read it, then you can figure out you are still an idiot.
Gun traces still happen in EXACTLY the same way, the only difference is sometimes (and usually related to a 4473 20 years old or more) they actually have the 4473 in question because the FFL wrapped it up.
So the sky still isn’t falling, you want this to be that bit it is still this. Stop believing the crap you see on tv.
It’s illegal. Sources are cited on it. I never mentioned how traces are done. But they can nor type your meme and see the information on any 4473 you’ve filled out.
I’m not concerned with my name coming back on a trace. I have other concerns as many others do. We don’t need to ignore it the ATF doing things they shouldn’t.
BS. They have no way of scanning the 4473s in MY possession.
When I do the NICS check online, there is NO firearm information beyond handgun, long gun or other. No make, no model, no serial number, no indication of how many firearms purchased. Just customer information. I’ve explained this to you so many times I can’t believe I have to do it again. I can make a YT video with the exact same info if that helps.
Please explain to me how they have any access to the information on the 4473?
I’ll give you a cookie if you can do it.
If your local FFL is using an online 4473 and you don’t trust it, find another FFL.
ATTENTION GUN BUYERS…ATF IS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE GUN REGISTRY. APPARENTLY I AM ONLY FFL STILL USING PAPER 4473S WHICH MAKE YOUR PURCHASE NON SEARCHABLE BY DIABOLICAL ATF DIGITAL RECORDS SCHEME.
STAY OFF ATF REGISTRATION - ONLY BUY GUNS FROM ME.
The ONLY 411 ATF could collect off a 4473 be it a call in or online is to know the type of transaction of a handgun, long gun or other…that is not a registry.
But…when ATF takes the 4473s that are already in their possession and scans them to pdf form, then it becomes OH THE NOES!!! SERCHJIABALBE DATA BASED GUN REIIUSTRATOIN OMG!!!
He has a video by renowned firearms expert MrGunsandGear which explains everything. So it’s a FACT.
SteyrAUG is correct, 100%. This fallacy/lie about 4473s being “registration” has been spread so many times it makes me want to puke. They stay with the FFL and aren’t given to ATF. A trace request comes from ATF and then the FFL gives them the info requested. It will either be the sale to an individual or to the next FFL it was sent to, based on the Acquisition/Disposition book.
