i plan to this friday on my half day.
I voted yesterday, early voting (last day). I had not planned to vote early but we realized that my wife had to work a 12 hour shift Tuesday and would not be able to vote so we stopped by the county building while downtown yesterday.
There was quite a line. This (obviously Democrat) guy in front of me was talking to his friend and he claimed to have an article that exposed the Koch brothers of NY. The guy to whom he was talking did not know who that was, so he said that they were these billionaires who are “behind all this crap” (meaning the tea party phenomenon). These guys just do not understand. Sure, the Koch brothers saw a good thing and have lent some support to some tea party groups. But these people think that the tea party people are mindless followers being pushed on by big fat cat billionaires. I wonder if they know who funds a lot of their progressive crap (Soros etc). These sorts of progressives will get their clocks cleaned this coming Tuesday but they won’t learn anything from it. They will blame rich billionaires for it etc.
They (guys in front of me) were also blaming the mortgage crisis on Wall Street (which rightly so deserves some of the blame) who they said took mortgages, divided them up (divided each one up into 10) and resold the same mortgage 10 times (leverage), magnifying the whole thing. They asked who else could be responsible? I put my hand in a megaphone shape to my mouth and said “Barney Frank” but I don’t think they heard me. I otherwise bit my lip and kept my mouth shut throughout the whole spiel.
Voting Tuesday. This is most likely the most important election to date in this country, and I plan on doing my part to vote the Democrats out.
To those that have exercised their civic duty, I thank you.
