Load was MarkM’s/Onyx’s 77gr TMK w/ 23.5gr of XBR in a Lake City case.
It was a hair farther than 700 yards.

Nice shooting how far did that hog go if at all after you hit him? Were you ale to recover the projectile?
I did not recover the projectile. It was a perfect shot (wish I could say I was that good…but it just worked out that way) the round entered behind the shoulder between two ribs, punctured the heart, and then exited the ribcage. She dropped where she stood and her legs shook for about 30 seconds. By the time I got there she was dead.
There was a huge sow next to her, but I knew .223 has some limitations at that range.
By cold I meant the link was left cold so people didn’t open up a random thread and see blood and guts. That hog was gutted and quartered less than 2 hours after it was killed.
The gravitational pull of the moon and the offset orbital axis must have been part of the equation.
Sounds like an excellent day. A shooting class AND pulled pork sammiches. 
Nice shot placement. 700+ seems pretty far for hog hunting, at least compared to what I am familiar with from South Carolina.
But was it from a helicopter?

Euro, is that the exit on the right in your gore pic? Did the damage look like the bullet expanded or fragmented? Because if ANY bullet is expanding at that range its pretty impressive. According to your ballistic charts whats the est. velocity?
Ive got a 500 rnd case of Black Hills TMK on the way, gonna see how this bullet shakes out for myself.
1350fps or so from what I remember.
Im almost as shocked as you are. The exit wound looked great for that velocity. Maybe the bullet tumbled? She was small and it didn’t penetrate bone getting inside of her, I’d imagine a 77gr TMK at 1350FPS would still mess up your insides if it got in you just right.
Unless you’re from the internet. Then it will just bounce off the hide.
700 yards?! I couldn’t hit that pig at that distance with a tow missile. In my non expert POV, that’s damn impressive shooting.
