I painted my safe!.. ZOMBIE WHOOP ASS ~ Pic heavy..

Hey team, Yeah it me link that weird guy who paints, this time around I’m custom painting my safe and I just thought I would share it with the team… You know me I’m a giver, lol…

So basically I’m turning my safe into a big can of whoop ass (zombiefied)

It going to mix of these:

Here’s how it all started, just a boring old safe

I started off by removing the touch pad and the door spindles, encasing the touchpad in plastic (for now at least)

Then I sanded down the safe

I also did the inside corners and edges

Then I whipped it down and proceeded to build my paint enclosure and start on my primer coat

Primer is all done

Now I sanded it again this time with 400gr, ie prepped the safe for the first coat of base paint, these are the materials I used

Note, I’m just concerned about covering part of the door, (where the stenclils are going to be) I’ll have different colors around the border, so no worries at this point…

While the initial base color is drying I stated on my stencils, this is easy just labor intensive / took a while

Wow you are busy! I want to see how this turns out.

Forward progress continues / Just a quick update for the team,

I finished my stencils

Installed all of the stencil and painted everything

Tomorrow I’ll cover the painted letters with the cutouts, paint the safe and boarders and pull off the lettering…

Once that’s all done I’ll have the opportunity to add some in the zombie, the blood splatter, etc, etc…

So (with that said) forward progress continues

I pulled of all stencils and covered the words

I was thinking, yeah I know I hate when I do that hahahaa… Anyway I decided to make a change in the overall design / concept of the project. Instead of making it look like an actual can, I decided to make it look like / match my ammo cans (in looks that it)

Hey I’m sorry I just like the green look… haha actually looking back I’ve done a lot of green projects

So anyway, I mixed up some WWII paint

and sprayed away…

Then I peeled off the letter covers and got this.

Shoot forgot the M lol… sorry about that…

So now the fun really starts for me. Hahaha I get to spend the night adding in the blood splats, bullet holes, zombies, etc…

With any luck I should have it finished tomorrow…

Progress continues with the following start on the zombies

GOOD NEWS!!! It’s done…

Forward progress continues
I put my attention to the safe door handles, I’ve got a pretty cool idea for them, trust me lol…

Now it time to paint up keypad. That was easy…

So It’s finally finished! team. And personnel I think I dig a pretty cool job… I’m defiantly liken my new safe…

So here’s what it looked like Friday night… ie Before

Here’s what it looked like Sunday night… After…

Thank you all for your time and Have a great one team…

P.S.
My boy and neighbor says I need to add more blood splats and a few bullet holes to it??? IDK

What do think??

Impressive skills Link.

Hey thanks Norinco… I’m glad you like it…

Very creative and certainly sets your “run of the mill” gun safe apart from the rest of the pack.

But I gotta ask: What’s the red stuff in the big jar?

The first thing that came to mind was that old kid’s son:

Great green gobs of greasy, grimy gopher guts,
French-fried froggy feet, mutilated monkey meat,
Salted eyeballs floating in a bowel of pus
And I'm without a spoon.... but I got a straw!

Interesting variation. I learned it as:

Great green gobs of greasy, grimy gopher guts
Mutilated monkey meat, little dirty birdy feet
Little pink pails of petrified pelican puke
And I forgot my spoon

But to get back on topic… that is an awesome paint job Link.

I like the bullet hole idea… not a lot of bullet holes just a diagonal spray from an M4 maybe?

Good job on the safe!

I like where your heads at! :secret: Personally I would like to see some zombie arms busting through the door, a piece of the safe door’s edge painted like it’s being bent in and then a zombie head with a line of bullet holes stitching across the front…maybe a couple of nie little pucker wounds or “stars” in the zombie’s face and forhead?! I’m good at the idea part…suck at the execution part!:cray:

I don’t think you want zombies coming out of the safe though as it would be counter intuitive to the logic behind the premise of the artwork itself. It would look pretty cool though. I like the look of this thing and also have a similar Sentry safe that was rather inexpensive that I’m tempted to paint up now after seeing this one. Very cool look and I like the uniqueness & creativity of it. Now, forgive me while I rip off that uniqueness & creativity.

I think it looks great! Very cool looking safe and you did some mighty fine work as usual.

Honestly, I don’t think I would change a thing. Anything else you add may begin to get cliche and I like how it looks subtly unique as it stands. It’s leaps and bounds better than before and I really like the end result. If I had any talent I would attempt something similar with mine.

Awesome!
