I just opened up the new VCAS AK47 sling I got from G&R and proceeded to put it on my rifle. Once on their I noticed its extremely long. I synched it up as far as I could on the all the straps on both sides of the padded section and then the made the ajustable part as short as it could go. The sling could not get any shorter and this is what I got…
Is this how it is suppose to fit or am I just to short for this sling to work. As pictured in the photos, I can shoulder the rifle without even having to let any material loose on the adjustable part. Im thinking that at this point Im going to need to get another sling as there’s no point in having an expensive adjustable sling if im too short to even have to adjust it. Let me know what to do.
Are you saying you can transition shoulders without extending the sling? I like the end of the buttstock to be about 8" below my chin when I let my rifle hang. Alot of people have found the padded versions to be a little long for them.
So I think I fixed the problem. I took out the universal adaptor thingy and just ran the strap though the sling attachment on the left side of the gun. It makes the sling a whole lot shorter and now I am able to use the adjustable part as it was intended.
Before
After
I think that they were originally sized kind of large for people wearing armor and gear… I read somewhere, maybe here on M4C, that later production would not be quite so long.
I am 6’2" and have the newer AA model padded and it is not quite so long. It also does not come with the quick release buckle by default but I added one actually for my “poor man’s” version of the Magpul sling and endplate… (pics of that coming when I get the camera out with the rifle)
