hey guys im new here and i have to say what a great site:D …anyways down to business i have been looking at noveske’s and i cant decide between the n4 light low profile or the recce low profile. Can any one put up a comparison picture of both rifles next to each other preferably as stock as possible. im just not sure if a want a middy… but i hear really good things i light the carbine i just dont like the wielded on flash suppressor can ane one help me out -thanks
Have you checked out the Noveske website? The pictures I would post would be the same ones.
They honestly look a lot alike.
ive been to noveske’s site i just cant tell the difference and i want a carbine length gun but really a 1.5 wont bother me if i can take off the flash suppersor. it would be nice just to get a visual comparison from someone who has the rifles next to each other.
I have the RECCE low pro and wonder how much lighter the 14.5 light low pro carbine is. So you lose 2" of rail and 1.5" of barrel length. How much does that really add up to ?
I guess another factor to consider is that the extra little bit of weight you gain with the recce low pro is farther out so it must handle differently than the 14.5" carbine.
My only complaint about the recce low-pro is that it is a heavy rifle compared to some 7" railed 14.5" carbines I have handled in the past.
16" SS RECCE

16" N4

14.5" N4

im wondering the same thing… also thanks for the pics
Recce lo-pro N4 upper

Do you want a SS barrel, or the N4 barrel? If it were me, I would go with the N4 midlength low profile, and actually, I have gone with that model for myself.

To those that own both the 14.5" low-pro light carbine and light recce low-pro do you notice much of a weight difference ?
Noveske Recce lo pro and Light lo pro

N4 Lo Profile with 14.5" barrel. Hits whatever I need it to… over and over and over.

i want the N4 barrel
both of those rifles are nice i really cant choose:confused:
I’ve a N4 Basic Recce upper and a N4 Basic carbine with DD 7.0 and when hooked to the same Noveske lower I’m not sure I can tell much of a difference. My Recce has shown to be about 1/2 inch MOA more accurate with BH 77 grn. The shorter carbine’s shortness makes it feel “handier” but I’m sure that’s 99% psychological.
so if you could only have one which one would you choose?
ohhh that’s a great question. One I wish you hadn’t asked. ![]()
I’ve asked myself that many times. I’m a bit OCD about “overbuilt” which is why I first got the Recce upper due to the belief it wears longer (pressure curve etc) which in reality for my shooting is absolutely a moot point. And the fact that the Recce upper throws sick groups endears it to me for that intrinsic value.
At the end of the day, I’d probably pick the Recce for my OCD reasons and the accuracy. Although before I hit submit on this reply I reversed that answer from the first draft that picked carbine. That tough. [edit - plus the modest but nice advantage of the sight radius when shooting irons]
And FWIW I went Basic Recce about a year ago, heavily influenced by the advice Rob_S has posted on his site recommending that to start out with. It was superb advice. [thanks Rob]
I had the choice and for a duty gun the N4 fit the bill. I dont count tiny spaces between holes at the range so the N4 is accurate enough for me.
Can you, or anyone, tell me a bit about the mount for the Aimpoint mirco?
Also, great collection, someday I hope to have a Noveske.
Looks like a GG&G
