I learned why people vote for Obama last night

I was at a bar (with a hottie) last night and we were having a good time. We both work in the same field, and she is a successful professional with an MBA. She was being friendly, so was I, and it’s important to keep in mind that the tone of our conversation was one of fun and light heartedness in order to really comprehend what was said (or rather, what she meant)

So we’re feeling loose, talking, and she mentioned something about can’t waiting “until my student loan debt is written off by Obama.”

And I was immediately taken by surprise. I’ve known her for a very long time and politics never came up, and our field is very far right-leaning so I was a bit surprised at her comment and figured it was just sarcasm. A little while later, we started talking about something else and Israel came up and that’s when the crazy talk started. I won’t waste your time with every single issue we spoke about, but just know that she’s as far left as you can get on virtually every single issue. (Except guns, surprisingly. She was the victim of a home invasion, battery, and robbery and realized if she had a gun she could have defended herself…) Again, keep in mind we are clarifying our points of view in good humor and fun. No animosity whatsoever.

During that time, a lesbian couple and a gay couple came in and sat next to us. Their sexual orientation was extremely obvious. She immediately said “Why do carpet munchers have to come in and ruin a good time?” And I was blown away, as we had just discussed gay marriage and she said that she “totally supported gay rights and all that stuff.” I called her out on that, and she was like “haha lesbians are soooo annoying though! I don’t care if they get married, but I don’t like them.”

I let it go. About 15 minutes later we were waiting on getting our drinks refilled and the bartender, who was a latina, was running a little behind. And then she went on a huge rant about how lazy “Mexicans” are and how she’s sick and tired of “black people and Mexicans” taking their sweet time. Again, keep in mind we had just discussed that the “reason minorities are so oppressed is because the system is designed to keep them down. Arrest them all, give them felonies, and they can’t get jobs or vote is the name of the game.”

Now I was a little angry. I didn’t let it show, but I couldn’t believe I was sitting next to this racist piece of trash. However, I couldn’t resist not saying anything so I called her out on her hypocrisy. Her 100% completely straight faced, dead ass, no BS, cross-my-heart-and-hope-to-die serious response was

“I’m allowed to have feelings like that, because I voted for Obama.”

Unbelievable.

My relationship status nor Israeli settlement is the subject of this thread. I could have elaborated and said how she is okay with suicide bombing Israeli elementary schools, or how one can have a girl and not be committed to a relationship but again - irrelevant.

The last part is very relevant and shows the source of much conflict. Until you’re in it, you can’t get it. But when you finally get it…Ohhhh man life gets awesome. I just got out of the hospital and I can’t drink or anything for a while so I’m pretty jealous. I broke up with the girl I was seeing while I was laying in the bed recovering from surgery, so it’s back to the beginning in the hunt for the Great White Buffalo.

Oh the Obama thing, don’t let it keep your buoy from dipping in the tide. It’s not uncommon for people to have conflicting views while claiming a party. For example, I’m obviously fairly right learning because I’m fiscally conservative, but I’m socially liberal because what I believe in is individual responsibility and freedom to make decisions, good and bad. She seems to flip flop because she’s clearly an elitist, greedy, self centered little broad. Don’t marry her. Does she look like Kimber James?

I think you’re going to find that most women are going to operate on a more emotional level rather than logical. This leaves them a bit more vulnerable to the tripe the left puts out because the argument never had to get to what is right or wrong, someone only needs to say “It just isn’t fair.” or “It’s for the Children.” and for the most part they have a majority of the women falling right in line for it.
I’ve learned over the years and through multiple marriages not to argue this stuff, just let it set and watch and wait. When the opportunity comes up (and oh yes it will,) just point out the hypocrisy of the left in a non confrontational way. Occasionally put something on the TV to reinforce your opinion and again in a non confrontational way point out the hypocrisy of the left and how it is hurting her personally.
It may take decades to get to the point where she will actually walk in to the voting booth and make logical rather than emotional choices, but I have heard it can be done.
Think about how you train your dog, little rewards and kind words gentle petting and in 10 years you’ll have her trained.

And also nothing said in a Bar counts for Women, you have no idea what her ability to hold her alcohol is and it is likely she was easily twice as buzzed as you were.

Oh dude I know. I was married for 7 years and obviously dated quite a bit before that. And did a lot of in between seeing girls…sans relationship.

I’ll give her credit though, my ex wife really came around from being a central-California born and raised dumbass to a smart and rational-ish hard ass. The best teaching method I’ve found for me is the not try to force their thoughts at all. Within six months of steadily being around me, any girl will learn a lot about the underbelly of society. No, I don’t hang out with scum or invite nonsense into my life. I’m just one of those guys who always ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time and the learning just occurs naturally.
