Looks ai´ght to me. Even the pic quality.

What was your technique?

An excellent first effort. How long did it take you?

I used a soldering iron with a pointed tip. It took me 2 1/2 hours all together.

Looks pretty good to me. How long did it take before your eyes un-crossed when you finished?

very nice job! enjoy!

I would just like to impart some knowledge I learned from my first experience with this technique. It may seem less restraining by buying a battery powered soldering iron but it will take 2 sets of batteries to do one blaster. This may seem like common sense but I made the mistake and wanted to pass that on.

I am getting ready to do my G-19 and these pics definately give me an idea of what I am in for. Nice looking, did you use any kind of masking or just a steady hand??

I just came up with the outline and used a steady hand. The outline is the hardest part making sure its straight.

I forgot to add. I used a pencil to outline.

Great job, looks good to me.

Looks great! Good job!

Not too bad it might help cosmeticly if you take the original grip texture off first, but other than that looks good…
New sights next on thr list?
good luck

I wasn’t sure how to take off the original texture and didn’t want to screw it up.

Could someone who knows how to remove the original texture/finish please explain the process or post a link to a how to?

Thanks in advance.

Also, cbrkurt, nice job.

I second that. If anyone knows how to do it please spill the beans.

I used a sanding stone dremel head to file down the orginal checkering and finger grooves on my Glock. I then stippled the grips with a soldering iron.

Sanding block (sponge) to remove original texture. I know people love their dremels, but it’s too easy to mess up using power tools.

Great thread! Also my favorite view.
