Ok, now I’m curious about kodi. Element T4 looks like it might be a good option. Would be nice if a usb drive could be attached and used as a dvr.

We have roku, but I don’t think it supports kodi.
I ditched cable years ago. Too expensive and nothing but idiotic reality crap on. Roku is enough for me; I rarely watch TV programs, and when I do I typically wait for the DVD set to come out or for them to be available on netflix or Hulu.
Streaming is the way to go, I just hope it doesn’t morph into what cable is once it gets big enough. I have a bad feeling it will though…
I fired Dish Network and Direct TV with extreme prejudice and with great pleasure. Personal experience with Comcast (I think they made it into the “top ten worst companies”) is the same.
They will do anything to get new customers. They will do nothing to retain existing customers. Disgusting business ethics.
To get the eight channels I wanted, I had to buy like a hundred-fifty, which included “The Best Bra Ever” channel, 24-7, on three channels.
Repeat. I had “The Best Bra Ever” channel on three separate channels in order to also get what the F I actually wanted.
Fired their dumb asses and have never missed them and their crappy selection and their ads and “can’t do it” service. but I have found many uses for the $60-plus/month I was paying them.

I just installed a $6 HD TV Antenna. I get CBS, NBC, ABC, along with a bunch of other movie channels. I just finished watching Top Gun, now I’m watching Michigan St beat up Oregon.
I think I’m good. And it’s free!
The wife and I switched to Apple TV back in May when AT&T wanted to double our monthly cable bill, up to around 160, so now we only pay twenty something for Internet, and a few bucks for HBO GO and Netflix.
