My LGS has mags 3 for $200 with mag pouch.
Ordered a stock for $240, expected shipping in December / Jan. Before I get my stamp. So…whatever

Ran it for about 350 rounds of reloads, ran fine. No failure to anything.

BE VERY CAREFUL - THOSE ARE PROBABLY GEN1 MAGS AND NOT COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR GEN2
The MPX Essentials Kit containing 3 mags and a carrier is probably what you saw and has only been released for the Gen1 magazines; the Gen2 Kit does not even have a product number yet.
Sig redesigned the magazines for the Gen2 and has said that magazines ARE NOT compatible across the generations. If you look closely, you will notice that a Gen2 mag as a gray follower and longer lips. This has caused a major shit storm on Sigforum and AR15.com. Now, some people have tested the Gen1 mags in Gen2 guns and reported normal feeding. However, Sig is sticking by their assertion that the mags are generation specific. I called Sig today and put myself in line for a Gen2 essentials kit which does not have an ETA. THE SIG REP TOLD ME THAT ALL GEN2 MAG PRODUCTION IS GOING TO NEW GUNS, AND THEY HAVE NOT PRODUCED ANY GEN2’s FOR INDIVIDUAL PURCHASE.

Also, with the collapsible stock in the 8 inch barrel, I presume you have to do the normal process for an SBR correct?
I don’t know what pins were in that gun but in the last three years I’ve seen several SIG AR-pattern guns where the hammer and trigger pins were not the same part. In a fantastically unexplainable feat of apparent over-or-under-thinking it, the trigger pin has only the outboard groove and the hammer pin has only the inboard groove, as opposed to both pins having both grooves.
Increasing even further the chance of screwing things up-- including at the factory.
My guess is the pins got swapped so neither pin has any detent holding it in place, inevitably leading to the noted problem.

While it is hard to understand how this could have been allowed to happen in the first place, hopefully SIG has the problem fixed. I have been tempted on the idea of 9mm AR for sometime now, and this looks like it could be a great option. I hate to have to deal with the paperwork, etc. for an SBR, but I would certainly want the collapsible stock version.
Having taken mine out for a few runs has caused me to remove that hideous trigger out and put in a SSA, and replaced the safety that was also horrible and put in BAD levers. Much better. I got notice my stock shipped so this thing may actually be enjoyable to shoot at some point.
I ordered 2000 rounds of 9mm so I’m looking forward to running it hard.
I took mine out for the first time this week, Gen 1 including the new charging handle.
I have 2 mags, the one that came with it and an additional purchased at the same time.
Trigger is just above my SKS from years ago, a lot of take up and as smooth as a gravel truck, then breaks fine. If that’s possible. Maybe the take up isn’t as much as the SKS, but still a lot.
All shots at 15 yards were 8" low using the factory set sites, I didn’t have anything with me to adjust the front for elevation.
Shooting off hand, netted 3" groups. Good for me. “Rapid fire”, being less then 1 second per shot, netted 6" pattern for 10 shots. Good for me.
I shot 4 brands of ammo mixed in each mags, everything went bang. No ftf or fte, all good!
First outing is a success in my book. Relative to all the talk of the Gen 1 it did better then I expected, for a “Gen 1”. I’m good with 9mm, that’s why I bought it. I’m considering one of the other caliber options. As I understand it Sig will sell the other calibers as a complete upper to Gen 1 owners at the conversion price, we’ll see what that means when they are available. So instead of changing the barrel and bolt I’ll change the upper. Meh, ok with me.
Last comments: It was advertised with a hard case and cleaning kit, I didn’t get either. Just the same I’m happy with what I have. Excited even!

Agreed. As soon as I can squirrel the money away I’m going to have to pick one of these up. I’m fine with 9mm and the 8 inch barrel, but would definitely want to SBR it to get the collapsible stock.
