30% of jobs require an “occupational license.” You need a license to get married. You need a license to have a business. A license to carry concealed. A license to rent a piece of property. You have to pay so many taxes to rehab a property. You’re taxed out of the ass. This shit sucks
There’s a solution to that, but most people don’t like to contemplate it…

Yea…unfortunately the vast majority are complacent with their pointless lives as long as they can take care of their family and have booze and pot. The amount of people who actually want to be free are few and far between
Now don’t get your lips all puckered out and miserable. There’s one license you are born with in the United States. It’s an inalienable Right validated by the 2nd Amendment. Just like James Bond 007, you have a License to Kill…it’s just tied to your self-defense.
Licenses are nothing new in the United States. In the last quarter of the 19th century, occupational licenses were required in larger cities, and a lot of rural areas. Boarding houses, saloons, ferry operators, etc. all had such licenses. Marriage licenses go back to the early 19th century and late 18th century in most eastern US communities.
Study history and you’ll find licensing is nothing new or indicative of a US going haywire.
and when you die your kids are taxed on money you left them
yeah its sad what has happened to our gov getting out of control
Not to discount your view, or to poo poo the genuine creeping tyranny, but I try to remember some of the liberties I still enjoy and I live in California. I can work, I can move around freely, I still have my AR’s and standard capacity mags. And the most important to me…I can still worship God according to His scripture and still own a copy of His word.
Doesn’t a trust help that?
Wow, if this is still just “getting out of control,” I do not wanna see full blown out of control. Our government has been out of control since before the Bonus Army.
It’s a fvcking load of BS that you have to form a trust to avoid estate taxes.
I’m amazed that a state like Calif. even allows trusts. I read somewhere they’re trying to tax people that have left the state for 10 yrs on some of their property.
I’ve heard rumors that Illinois is considering an “exodus tax” for Illinois residents who move to another state, due to the masses who are finding better places to live.
Good lord…
I want to be free.
Great. I do to. Where do we start in a meaningful way? Courts are useless. General welfare clause and “public safety/policy” has destroyed the court system…
I think what you’re looking for is called a Free Ride. In order to take this “Ride” you have to divest yourself of all the accoutrements of the modern world.
The flower power types tried it in the 60’s into the early 70’s (never trust anyone over 30, the government is bad, and hate the fuzz), but they sold out and became the modern senior members of the Progressive Wing of the democrat party. They were traitors to their own vision.
Now days we have sovereign citizen types and they aren’t buying into licenses and other requirements of the modern world. Then we have the cult types who set up religious commune compounds (several in New Mexico) and they shun everything that the outside secular world has to offer.
So you have options. You could be the first to reinvent the Flower Power generation of the 21st Century with a Patriot slant - The Flower Power Patriots -with Guns !!! You could have Tricorn hats on your head while getting wasted with your deluxe 13 Colony Bong, with pictures of the Founding Fathers on it. There are some of those folks already in Vermont, so you might get some pointers from your potential Green Mountain brethren.
If that’s too radical, just start your own religious commune compound - where you could be a Deist or Atheist or have many Gods. It’s all cool when you’re stickin’ it to the man and not get licenses. Just remember to establish yourself as the top prophet who has a direct line to your deity(s).
And the chicks. The prophet always has the direct pipeline to the chicks.
And no license involved, either. You must know someone who has already taken that Free Ride in life?
But seriously, regarding “chicks”, if you wanted to operate a bordello or “fancy house” here in the old west, you got a license from the town government. And speaking of the old west, everyone brands cattle to slow down rustling. A cattle brand is like a registered trademark. If wanted your brand to hold up in a court of law rustling case, you’d have that brand registered with the State. That registration is a license and it’s renewed periodically.
Whenever I read of someone with the handle of “patriot” attached in one form or another, and they complain about licensing, the alarm bell sounds. Especially when the argument is presented that it’s something new and evil. It’s not - it’s part of history of North America, whether back to Puritan Colonial times or under Spanish rule in Florida, New Mexico or California. It’s part of the social order in an organized society. Living with other people where a government is decided on requires some kind of controls where record keeping or public safety is involved. If that’s not agreeable, then there’s the remedies I mentioned in post #15 of this thread.
I read that CA was contemplating similar. How on earth could that be enforceable? What court would uphold such nonsense? There is absolutely no way that could work. It’s dead on arrival.
A lot of ‘licenses’ are a means to prove that the license holder has met a minimum standard for safety in that ‘thing.’ I’ve no problem with that.
But onerous taxes being levied for every little thing? Yeah, that’s a no for me, dawg. It reminds me of that scene from the awful Popeye movie with Robin Williams, when he gets into town there’s man following him collecting all sorts of taxes:
Bullshit. Let’s take an electrical license for example. In my state it takes 6 years to be able to pull permits. I am perfectly capable of wiring a house but can’t do the work because I don’t have a license. Why does a license matter if something is up to code, permits were pulled, and inspection passed?
