Not to take away from the sling, but. Look at this guys hands. They are bloody along with his face and possibly his left side under the vest. God bless these guys that over there kicking terrorist’s in the balls everyday.

The plate carriers look familiar also but I cant put a finger on it.

KC

It’s the London Bridge 6094, it’s damn near standard issue to every branches SOF and not-so-SOF like me. It’s a great vest.

I want one, I’m pretty dumb for buying the APC so soon.

Powerful picture, the man to the left did NOT want to be in that photo.

I saw the full pic (bigger and better) on the cover of a newspaper about a week ago and had to pause and take a look. They all had Surefire mini’s on their barrels. The first thing I noticed was how light they run compared to standard infantry.

Without crossing the OPSEC line, these raids are very fast and the ones doing it don’t have to worry about getting stuck out there for three times longer than they planned on.

If you saw a picture of an ODA about to leave on an extended mission rather than a raid, the first thing you would notice is how much MORE shit they have.

Mission dictates everything, SOF just has a generally wider range of missions they encounter.

Another photo from Kit up!:

It says they’re Kiwi SAS

Soldiers, reportedly U.S. special forces, leave after taking part in a military operation against Taliban militants that attacked the Inter-Continental hotel in Kabul on June 29, 2011. (Getty)

I suspect those warriors are USAF due to their Cyre G3s.

Those helmets appear to be PASGTs and not MICHs.

I would wager that those pics are already on barfcom being used by accountants from Sheboygan and realtors from Akron to justify their personal gear choices.

CBS (and everyone else) should not be posting those pictures.

Agreed. I thought I was out of the loop on why CBS would post these with faces included. Not cool.

Wonder why they werent using kneepads.

Very true. It still gets me how people think they need to bring the kitchen sink everywhere with them though.

I was surprised to see there faces when I saw the newspaper. I think that might be why this particular photo caught my eye as more than a typical news photo.

He was probably an interpreter. And thus didn’t was his face shown for fear of reprisal.

Military Times had them listed as Kiwi SOF as well…though I didn’t know those guys used Multicam…

I assumed the same, though I find it weird their terp was wearing what appears to be Aussie pattern armor.

1 NZSAS Gp. There was a good deal of disapproval of publishing their faces, but not a lot could be done about it. Most major news outlets complied with the request to black out the faces.

So Kiwi SAS it is, pretty kewl.
