Im trying to identify an AR-15 detachable carry handle, the owner claims its off a Colt 6920. The only marking is a square casting mark in the upper rear right side, no letter C . Im not sure if its Colt so any info will be appreciated .
Be sure the Square is a square and not a keyhole mark…
If it s keyhole mark it very well could be a colt.
Also just because its a keyhole does not make it a colt. The keyhole just means cerro forging if im not mistaking.
Not all keyhole carry handles are made on Colts machines.

It is probably Colt, but to make sure you need to measure from the bottom of the carry handle to where the rear sight base sits. This should be .840"
A commerical dimension carry handle will be .800"

.840 on the dial caliper. Thanks Scottyran. So Brass Aluminum`s forge mark is a square, Thanks again. I kinda thought that Colt would have stamped a C along side of the square. I have a Cerro Forge upper with a C stamp applied.
Colt carry handles are usually not marked with a C.
