Hurrican Gustav

Hope you Gulf Coast guys are ok and prepared. what are you doing in response to the storm?

Staying home to guard the home -20 . Stocked up on food , water , drinks , TP , gas for the generator , cash , meds , emergency roof repair materials , chainsaw , you name it . After the carnage subsides , I’ll be working long days
( power company ) . Not looking forward to any of it . :frowning:

Good luck and Godspeed to all in the path of Gustav!!!

I hope that I’m with everyone else that All will be safe.
But the news media is playing this as all is lost before it starts.

Good luck to all our members in that area! Stay safe and as soon as you can let us know you’re okay.

Good luck to you guys in NOLA. Board up, pack up the family, chalk the safe, take a M-4gery with 12 full mags, a handgun or 2 with 5 to 10 mags of ammo, a couple of 5 gallon water jugs, food for a week and LEAVE.

Well, I’m fueled up, food stored, cash in hand, and mags loaded. My home is 3/4 of a mile from the beach. If it comes this way I’ll board the windows and head to my parents, which is only 12 miles from the beach. They do have a whole house generator, which makes for A/C and a hot shower.

Well, here we go again, Been watching CNN, mayor of New Orleans told everyone to get out of N.O.said “this the storm of the century” also told those who decide to stay that “they will be on their own, and not to expect any help” Storm is now cat4, expected to make cat5, tomorrow, and currently tracking N.W. towards N.O. This is going to be worse than Katrina…

Unlike Fouler and others that think the storm is funny – everyone down there has our best wishes and prayers… Godspeed Big Easy.

Looks like Gus is following the track that they were afraid Katrina would take. Buzzsawing into the west and storm surging the Gulf and Lake P(how ever the hell you spell ) coasts almost simaltaneously.

Stay safe folks

It is ironic that the focus on the family crowd was hoping for rain during the DNC, but it came during the RNC. Funny? Of course not.

I picked up water, ramen noodles, ranch style beans, lots of beer, and a few batteries, but I’m in Houston and don’t expect any problems at all.

I pray that everyone will be safe and that the storm will do minimal damage.

Around here, everybody left yesterday. I think Rita and Katrina slapped some sense into people with regards to waiting until the last minute to get outta Dodge. I think we’ll all be ok down here in Tejas and we’ll be sending good vibes out to the LA folks.

And remember, it’s not that the wind is blowin’…it’s what the wind is blowin’.

Best of luck to you guys down there.

Well it looks like Gustav is on land this morning. I hope everyone is doing okay.

Looks as if many learned how to deal with this. Also looks as if Gus has dropped to a Cat 2.
