Huge problems with brand new Midwest Industries rail

Today, I received the MCTAR-20 2-piece free float rail that I purchased.

When trying to install the rail, two out of the four holes that are used to secure the top half of the rail to the barrel nut completely stripped out by hand tightening the screws with the provided allen wrench. A third hole is already starting to strip out. As I was tightening them down, I noticed that two of them kept spinning without getting any tighter and the third starting to do the same thing.

To say I’m disappointed is gross understatement.

This weekend was going to be my first time shooting my AR, but since installation required the cutting off of the delta ring, I can’t exactly put my old handguards back on, which means my rifle is out of service.

Does anybody know if MI is open on Saturdays? Or would I have to call in on Monday to see what can be done about this issue?

I have owned several MI rails in the past and never had the problem you are describing. Being it is saturday you can try calling but E-mail them also. It is possible they didn’t machine the screw holes properly and the rail needs to be replaced.Hope your problem is solved soon.
