Just watching Morning Joe on MSNBC and Huckabee blasted Romney on a variety of stuff, but most noteably was Romneys position on banning “assault weapons”.
Huckabee is a underdog, but is he the best chance we have for the 2nd amendment right now ?

It looks like Huckabee is the best bet for the 2A, but he likes amnesty.
It looks like Romney is the best fiscal guy, and hair now that Edwards dropped out.
McCain sucks as a potential President. He still thinks his finance reform bill was a good thing, he will probably not appoint constuctionalist justices to the SCOTUS (read Novak today), he is as attention hungry as Billy is, and finally he is 70 freaking years old!. end Rant
I agree 100%…unfortunately, I feel that this election is going to result in my voting for the lesser of two evils:(
I think that about sums it up for all of us. David
Well, I’m in FL and I voted for Huckabee even though I know he would not be in the top two. I just wanted to give support him anyway to keep him relevant.
I have to admit Romney does better in expressing himself in the debate than McCaine. So does Huckabee when given a change. I think McCaine is help with name Recognition. He’s been in the public eye at a national level for many years now.
Having said that I can Live with McCaine if he is the nominee.
None are perfect but when is any one candidate “perfect” for everyone.
I don’t buy into “if this guy get elected they will run out country into the ground” mentality. No one man is going to single handedly ruin us. I’ll take any of the top three Republicans over Obama or Clinton.
Whatever short comings the Republican nominee has will have to be kept in check by the rest of the Party (Congress… The People). In the end we’ll be ok and much better off than with the Liberals.
Any vote for Huckaphoney is a vote for McLame. Mitt is the least offensive Republican canidate that may be able to beat McLame.
Romney will take away your AR’s that you come to this forum to learn about.
Mitt Romney signed one of the most oppressive, permanent, gun bans ever into law in AAssachussets, as president he will do the same to the whole country, bet on it!
This is why I will not vote for Mitt come what may! He is no friend of the 2nd
Amendment!
Buckaroo
(who is desperately looking for a candidate to support but feels no joy)
I like Ron paul but he does not have the support or appeal to most voters. AS OF RIGHT NOW I don’t want to vote for any of them and John (FEINBERG) Mccain is not going to get my vote.
I’m starting to love Huckabee more and more.
I believe that has been the case for the last few elections.
There is no way McLame would beat Hillary so vote for Huckabee, screw over Mitt and accept the ban that the Dems, who control both Houses, will shove up our behinds. At least Mitt could be reasoned with.
As a resident of “Assachusetts” I will second the fact that the AWB which sunset everywhere but here sucks. But I still own an AR. Just does not have a collapsible stock or bayo lug.
In any event I would not write off the ban as Romney’s fault completely. PLEASE remember he was working in one of the most liberal states around. Had he fought it tooth and nail the ban probably would have been jammed through anyway with more restrictions than we have now. That does not make it right but I can guarantee you that the dems will try and ban firearms long before Mitt.
And you think that McLame wont, give me a break. That loser is just as much on the anti gun wagon as any of them are, it just hasn’t needed to show it yet but as much as he gets along with Kennedy I don’t trust him, not to mention that he has no desire to shut down the border, neither does he have a clue about the economy. Now I don’t like Romny at all, and I have no intention on voting for him either. Just so you know, one of McLames top campaign people ( I will have to find his name again and post it later) worked for el presidente Vicente Fox and now he is one of Mccains top guys. This guy has before joining Mccain went around telling the U.S. how great the Mexican constitution is and how Mexico deserves back the land that the US took from them. I am sorry I cannot support Mccain I don’t care who he is against I think that he will do as much damage as ANY of the dems! This is the worst selection for President that we have had for a while, and perhaps ever
Likewise, 'Dinger. He carried last night’s debate, in my view, and he has the right chops to be a leader.
I’m more confident in Huckabee’s RKBA stand than I am in the positions of the other candidates, but at the moment two things keep me from loving him enough to vote for him in Ohio’s March 4th primary: 1) I oppose putting a cleric in the Oval Office; and 2) I recoil from the dissonance represented by his stated goal “to amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards.”
I respect Rev. Huckabee’s faith and that of others who share it. I simply disagree with his Constitutional agenda.
YMMV, of course. ![]()
If we get another AWB you might want to look at Congress to blame, not the sitting Executive.
Depending on what happens with Heller, we may have a chance to shovel three-legged stool…
I think McCain would beat Hillary. When it comes down to it, most of the Republicans would probably vote for him just to vote against Hillary; McCain is also liberal enough that he’d probably get a lot of Democrat votes as well. I’m holding onto a shred of hope that a strong VP could keep McCain from doing anything seriously stupid.
Good luck with that
