Interesting…
i never made it into the marines due to a motorcyle accident though trained for it my whole life. i watched this with a friend of mine who is ex marine and he almost lost his cool. i was pissed and i was never a marine.
Not quite as dorky as Dukakis in the Abrams, but just as false.
I was never a Dallas Cowboy but I would wear their jerseys. Sometimes it’s just showing you’re a fan. [shrug]
Damn…sitting here having a nice ale…carbine course tomorrow…and you had to post that picture…damn…
What a douche.
Not quite…
For a little fun…

Nicely done old chap
I understand your point, but wearing a jersey of a sports team when you’ve never been a member is not the same as wearing a shirt of the Armed Forces of this country when you’ve never been a member.
I’ve not been a member of either, a knee accident makes military service undoable, but I would not wear a USMC, or any other military shirt, since I am not alumni.
I fixed him now!

I see nothing wrong with wearing one if you have friends or relatives who have served and you are proud of them, but I would guess that Sen. Obama has no-one that fits into those categories. He is wearing it to a photo op to show he is a regular guy who supports the .mil.IMHO
It’s as queer as a three dollar bill.
I dont think I’d care of even notice the USMC shirt if it was anyone other than Obama.
I am still waiting for the NRA bumber sticker on his car.
Man I know that made Chesty Puller roll over in his grave!
I obviously agree with most of the above… this guy is a putz. I wouldn’t even wear a USMC shirt when I was awaiting my “trip” to Recruit Training. Wear an item which bears the Eagle, Globe and Anchor or wording to include “USMC” is one of those things that is not done unless one earns the right to do so. This is obviously extended to family and friends of Marines who “earn” the right in a much different way, through the support of their Marine during Recruit Training, their transition to the Fleet and the deployments which soon follow. It becomes a family as a whole and the insignia and/or wording becomes a bond.
God, I hate election years.
+1 to that!
Well holy crap. I’ll spare everyone here from me typing the complete list of colorfull words that I just spewed out. It doesnt bother me for someone to sport a military shirt so long as you support them. But I really don’t think that is the case here. (probably just stated the obvious) Well $hit this just ruined my day.
