How to Shoot Like a Navy SEAL

http://centermassgroup.com/books/

Has anyone read it?

Any good? Worth the $37?

I’m pretty set with just turning my handgun sideways when I shoot

Okay but to be honest. My last deployment I was OPCON to 3 NSWs and got to see them shoot on many occasions along with Army SOF and honestly I don’t think there is anything difference then what is already out there. But I’m no Operator

I’d rather pay for a subscription to Panteao

There are worse ways to spend $37. There might be a gem in there worth the bucks.

There is also Panteao, on demand or on DVD, which is worth every penny.

I also highly recommend spending some time with our resident trainers and SMEs, many of whom are hosted at locations not too far from you.

Thank you skintop. I’m new to the community so I appreciate the direction.

Panteo is great but if you’re set on a book, get T.A.P.S. by Pat McNamara.

Hit this link for several 2014 classes in PA worth your time.

Sweet York is only 2 hrs away. Skin have you heard of rockwelltactical.com before? Any advice on gtg or stay clear?

You know that is only part of the process. Don’t forget to throw the bullets while grabbing your crotch and yelling obscenities. Very important to do all at once.

OP, if you like to read and/or watch videos, you may find value in it. Important lessons can be learned from seeing or reading the wrong thing, as long as you can differentiate between good and bad instruction. You may find that it contains a wealth of information and could share it’s value with the rest of us to consider for ourselves. Here, you can also Ask the SME or check out the forum supported Training Groups.

It’s pretty simple to shoot like a SEAL, all you need is probably the largest allocation of training ammunition in the non-JSOC military, a sweet tan, and a vat of hair gel.

If you like to read, I’d recommend “Green Eyes and Black Rifles”, “TAPS”, and “Surgical Speed Shooting” far above anything that looks like an internet ad for erectile dysfunction pills.

I’ve also got TAPS, and am re-reading it for the third time. Surgical Speed Shooting is a good nuts and bolts book.

I have or have read most of the pistol books out there (and watched most of the DVDs out there, too). While it’s almost never mentioned, Brad Engmann’s book is by far the best book on shooting a pistol. There’s a little bit of gamer stuff that isn’t relevant to everyone, but mostly it is just good, solid instruction.

I’ve looked around the centermassgroup website and read some of the fellow’s articles. I wouldn’t buy the book for $37. His ad copy, as you might have figured out, is hyperbole.

Re: Rockwell Tactical.

I’m not someone that thinks you must wait for one of the big name Alias trainers to come to your area; I think there are many local, less well known trainers around the country that are excellent. I’ve never heard of Rockwelltactical.com, and they could be great. (The fact that I haven’t heard of them means nothing.) However, I always find it off putting when a company doesn’t name its instructors on its website. (If the names of the instructors are on that website, I couldn’t find them.)

You sometimes see it with the former military types that hang out a shingle. Maybe they are unknown and think that giving out their name isn’t necessary, but it also makes me wonder if the company is just one guy, teaching a very limited, part time schedule only when he gets a class together, who calls in a few military buddies when he’s able to actually book a class that calls for additional instructors.

Not to mention that at least one instructor was busted not too long ago for claiming to be SF when he wasn’t. Again, I’m not saying that’s the case with Rockwell Tactical, and again, they could be great. But I’d want to know more about the instructor(s) before spending time and money with them.
