makes sense, I know in my field that unless you sell WAY MORE than the average small business sells than most manufactures wont even talk to you and they direct you to a distributor.

Knowing that you have to compete with online sellers, on top of other dealers in the area, I would think dealers would try to make money from people that would by online and just use them to transfer.

Yes they will make less than if they sell to someone that doesnt shop online, but like in my situation they make no sale, and I will just get it transferred through a different dealer. Plus next time I want something I will go to the place that helped me out, not the place that tried to screw me.

Understand.

A lot of dealers still believe the bubble has not burst on the AR market and are trying to make as much money as possible.

Lots of great information here. I have only purchased one firearm that needed to be shipped to my FFL. They charged me $20 for it. I spoke with them about another transfer about 4 months later and the price had gone up to $60… Just make sure you shop around your local dealers some will charge too much some not enough. Help the local guy out if you can and if the price is similar. Sometimes they will lower the price they will sell it for if you have another place that is going to sell it to you. Tax/cost etc.

I always try to support a local dealer but when I go in asking about ar’s and I ask him questions, tells me it doesnt matter they are all the same…:rolleyes:
And this was the owner… What a tool!!! So now I know for sure I will be ordering from an online dealer…Not even gonna use him for his FFL #. Rather drive 30 minutes to someone else.
