wrong, I ship ammo all the time at the main USP center. When you are filing out your computer info, on lower left corner there is a box that asks what the contents are. Type in the box and ALSO write it on the box in 2-3 places with a sharpie. They will also add their own stickers:

If they still refuse, tell them they are wrong, get a suppervisor and tell them to call the hazmat line. I had the same thing happen and brought an empty box back of ammo with their label that was shipped to me…it shut them up. It’s mostly ignorance. The ‘old salt’ UPS guys will know.
I talked to the UPS hazmat gal for about 1 hour about a month ago…I’m amazed at the stuff UPS ships. Ammo is the least of their worries. She told me they carry huge containers of gasoline not to mention all sorts of volatile chemicals for all sorts of customers.!!! I hope those driver get paid a premium.
