How many bags do you have actually ready?

Just a curious though I had while scrolling through the forum tonight. How many bags do you guys actually have set up? I don’t have all of mine but off the top of my head I think I have 3 so far. I am missing some like stuff sorted for kids clothes and what not that still have to be done. I have 7 people and 2 dogs to pack for and going through my gear I have about 6 bags total right now.

Train your dogs to carry bags. Choose two of your 7 who have given you the least quality Christmas presents, and let them know you’ll be back for them. Whether you do or don’t come back…that’s up to you

What are you packing for? Three bags already seems like a lot. At some point you might do better staying put than trying to chaperone that herd on your bugging out movement.

I keep my gym bag up and running plus my day pack stocked with things i may need out and about, other than that my range bag is usually ready to roll 24/7. If i had to leave town in a hurry it wouldnt be hard to pack for my wife and i relatively quickly, as long as i dont give her a choice on what shoes to bring

She is your property Sir, you don’t have to give her a choice, just give her instructions. Wives love instructions.

The gym bag is a solid method. Pretty discreet. As long as it’s not covered in MOLLE loops and Velcro patches, nobody gives a shit about the guy with a bag full of sweaty clothes.

Well I don’t mean just one specific thing for 1 bag. I was more curious just all around how many people have. There is the normal truck bug out bag, medical bag, normal bug out bag, stuff like that. I doubt there is any possible way to run 1 single bag for everything. Especially for larger families.

7 folks and 2 dogs? I’m staying put. How old is everyone? Anyone under 8 (especially girls) will seriously inhibit any distance goals you might have. Where are you taking these bags to?

Zero.

Reasoning: If Uncle Sam wanted me to go anywhere, he’d give me bags. I’m not going AWOL.
If there was a really good reason to leave, I’d have some notice. And in that case, I’m grabbing my cat, guns, and supplies, which don’t generally fit in a single bag anyway.

Bags = 0
Rubbermaid bins = 24, including 1 packed with dry dog & cat food…all stacked 3 high, 8 wide along the wall of the garage with easy access to help with stock rotation.

In case I need to run out of the house on foot, I always have this setup ready: A backpack with all my essential non-gun gear as well as a Swamp Rat Rucki attached to it, Blue Force Ten Speed with 4 loaded mags, a medium sized shoulder bag with extra magazines and handgun(s)… and of course a good AR. I figure if I have to leave the house, ammo is all-important. I can scavenge food and water more easily.

If I have time to load the car, I have a giant IDF duffel loaded with loaded 30 rounders, 12 gauge buck and slugs, and emergency rations and water. I would also take my 870 bag, an extra AR, as well as many 40mm and 20mm ammo cans full of 5.56. I keep pretty much everything in my house ready to grab and run out of the door with in case of an emergency.

I have 1 EDC bag that I carry and 1 GHB (Kit) in my vehicle. That’s it.

7 bags. All for differing purposes though. EDC, 72 hour emergency, long term on foot, carbine and ammo bag with bat-belt, cold weather gear bag with extra and/or specialty clothes, PC bag with extra mags/ammo, food.

Some of these are duplicitous and carrying like items (IFAK, food, knife, flashlight, paracord) but tailored to circumstances. Some are for rucking only, others if going by vehicle (to include ATV or truck as the case may be). If nothing else, if bugging in, it’s all there.

I have 2 EDC bags, 2 GHB bags, 2 BOB bags, my rifle bag /w my plate carrier and pouches ready to go and also in each vehicle have a small tote with extra gear like cloths, food and water.

On my person I carry my CCW with Two mags on me and in my EDC bag I have 2 more and in my rifle bag I have 4 more plus my M4 and mags for that.

Also stated above I won’t be bugging out unless its absolutely necessary I live out in the country some so I am away from the city.

I live in a small city outside Cleveland. During a large scale type problem I fear I may have to move.

With your flock of family in tow, I assume you already have a few locations picked out. Why not store supplies there or along the way? Travel is going to suck as it is. If it’s not water, socks, Motrin or foot powder, it won’t keep you alive.

If everyone in your group is an able bodied adult (or large child), everyone should get one framed backpack to take with them. If not, one pack for every two people to allow resting while moving.

It really is such a vague question that it’ll be hard to give much of a recommendation man.

It was just something I was curious about since I always see threads about bags and guys seem to mention having more than two. I like that idea of storing gear at the locations. I currently have 3 picked out that are good to go.

Im still looking for “the one” that will do everything.

Maybe the arcteryx khard will be that bag.

Wait are we talk about girls now? Haha I’m going to move some gear to one of my locations this weekend I think. 3 of my kids are old enough to have at least a 2 day pack on em.

My wife and I have 4. Each have a get home bag in our vehicle and a larger bag to get us from the house to our final destination.

I have one bag for my house, but I’m planning to get a smaller one for my car.

I only have two, one in my car and one at my house.
