How far down is the post on a fixed A2 front sight for a 25yd zero?

Yesterday I took a new rifle with Troy flip up rear and it was shooting 5-6" low at 25 yards. I didnt have any tools so I used the tip of the bullet to move the post down until it was flush but it’s still a few inches low. Can it be turned some more?

You should be able to still move the post if I am understanding what you are describing accurately. The part you are claiming is flush is the round “base” with the indentations?

I’m getting ready to go do a zero right now… Fun fun.

Yes.

I’ll bring a pencil with an eraser the next time I go.

EDIT:

I just read that there’s 24 clicks past the flush point so I was worrying about nothing.
