Haven’t been able to find a poll of this so thought I’d make one. I know some of this is personal preference, but I’d like to see what the community is mainly in favor of. I’ve read enough about setups to have an idea of what works but I’m by no means an expert!
I run the FSB with a flip up rear that is always flipped up with a RDS. That both sights are “cowitnessed” is a coincidence. I zero them seperatley.
I run just fixed irons. I’m considering a Trijicon TriPower as it’s the only 1x optic I’ve found that looks crisp with my astigmatism. The larger chevron reticle looks almost perfect compared to the small dots on the other 1x optics. I tried an H1 anyways for awhile but couldn’t get used to the very large starburst effect and felt it wasn’t worth the money with my eyes over irons.
Most of my rifles run fixed irons, but my two main rifles run red dots and folding BUIS.
Optic with folded down BUIS. My carbines have the F marked FSB and a Troy folding rear battlesight as backup to my Aimpoint T-1 micro. Irons are absolute co-witness.
Trijicon 4X ACOG with Dueck Defense Rapid Transition sights (45 degree angle to the right).
Irons are 1/3 lower, usually flipped down.
I run most of my rifles with irons and optics sighted in separately and my folding front sight up and rear down on a lower 1/3 cowitness. I use the front sight in relation to the optic reticle to make more precise hits at closer ranges. The front sight post helps me determine the offset.
Currently one rifle has an optic with fixed DD’s and one has an optic with Troy flippers.
I run a Troy M4 Flip Up in the front and a Troy DOA Flip Up in the rear. Both down. I use the EOTech EXPS3-0 as the primary and have only used the BUIS to zero them so far.
Fixed irons and Aimpoint T1 Micro’s.
Irons only for now. I intend to get a bit more subconscious with the platform before considering optics. I don’t want to move to an optic as primary before I feel 100% on irons and know their/my strengths and limitations.

Not that anybody cares what I do or why, but:
Optic with fixed FSB and BUIS rear folded down
Aimpoint Pro with Matech flip-up rear and DD fixed on front. Other two rifles are iron sights only with DD fixed rears and FSB fronts.
I’m currently running a variable powered magnified optic with Magpul gen 2 BUS flipped down.
one of my rifles is run w/ just folding buis waiting on an optic, and the other is run with folding buis and a red dot.
Eotech with MBUS deployed constantly.
Aimpoint T-1 in Larue 660? I think mount, and Troy flip ups, flipped down.
