Does anyone here appendix carry with a light? If so what kind of holster and light do you carry?
Tried it briefly but it was too bulky/uncomfortable for me to do anything except stand up. I was carrying a g19 w/ x300u. The holster used: https://otghex.com/products/mkviii/?navselect=group3
I carry HK P2000SK with Viridian C5L. Works good for me in AIWB with RCS Phantom light compatible holster. But I do not see this working good for EDC when using some “serious” light, especially when some sitting, crouching, bending or driving a car comes in the process.
I build a AWIB specific holster, I always try to tell people the best light for that is probably the APL. I don’t care to carry it,I think AWIB carry of any holster with or with out a light is highly specific to each person to find the sweet spot. Others have stated they love it. While other makers still make theirs like a taco, I do mine more like a burrito and wrap the kydex back around itself to create a smooth rounded corner and it cuts about 1" off the over all size.
While I don’t carry AIWB myself, I have used it on occasion with an Armordillo Concealment X-fer holster with a G22/TLR-1 combo for work. It was an excellent fit with minimal bulk.
Only light I could aiwb was a viridian x5l gen2. Sadly its not as durable as a tlr1s or the like so itll eventually break or stop working.
since you are supposed to carry a flashlight anyway and carrying aiwb is more for comfort and speed, the light mounted on a pistol concept goes by the wayside - my opinion.
Haley Strategic.
Incog line.
In a vIdeo Mr. Haley was demonstrating it with a spare mag. Maybe you could run a light instead of the mag?
I carry 3 oclock and dont have a HSP IWB. Just watched the video only.
I carry a x300 in my pocket as my handheld now, and run my G17 AWIB. I can operate it as a handheld quite easily and if time would be come avail. to do so I can literately snap on the x300 in a sec with out muzzling my hand. The attachment method for the x300 is why I chose it over the TRL1/3 and the APL I have.
I appendix carry an H&K P30LS with an X400U-GN and RMR using a slightly modified RCS Phantom with soft loops. For reference, I am 5’8", 140 lbs., and usually wear 30" slim fit jeans (Levi’s 514 for the most part) and size small t-shirts.
Got a picture?
Flickr is messing up and I can not get the links to my photos to show up for me to show what I’m talking about.
I can’t, which is one of the reasons that I went back to strong-side carry.
There are many good reasons to choose AIWB, just didn’t mesh with some of my personal constraints. Not a knock on appendix, just my preference.

Back in the day before job, wife, kids, food added a couple of inches to my stomach, yeah. I coulda AIWB.
It’s really uncomfortable for me now. Especially sitting. lol
Haha, that’s my personal fat meter. When the butt of the gun starts printing I know that I have to slow down on the ice cream and run more.
Armordillo concleament x-fer with a m&p 9 full size with tlr1 has been my only carry gun for a while. I don’t see a change in the near future.
Glock 22 w/ X300U in an Armordillo Xfer AIWB. Works fine for me, even sitting.
The large gap around the trigger guard concerns me.
For that to be an issue it would have to be a real strange object and come from a really weird angle. I mean it would have to practically be a wire coat hanger bent to fit.
Only has to happen once and stranger things have happened.
Rather not take any unnecessary chances.

The pen shows the bottom of the holster. It goes right into the crease of my leg, so bending over and stuff isn’t an issue. The larger cant is to minimize the printing of the extended baseplate. It might slow me down a little on the draw, but I can usually hit a 3"×5" index card at 7 yards in about ~1.9 to ~2 seconds.
Glock 19 with APL. not quite appendix, closer to 3:00, using a rather common appearing kydex holster.
