I just noticed that a 14 page thread started by me is missing. Not just locked, but apparently completely deleted. No PM or anything from a mod saying why. There is some info in that thread that I believe is valuable to the m4c community. This was in the “beyond 5.56” sub-forum. Any idea who the mod is in this sub-forum, so I can ask about my thread?
You don’t think it’s obvious why it’s been deleted?
A major manufacturer was being trashed while you left out pertinent information in your OP. Fortunately, another forum member did leg work to find out that additional information and posted it in that thread. That information discredited much of your post. Unfortunately, many readers only read the OP & took it at face value. The whole thing was a mess, and I mean no disrespect to you, but kudos to the mod the saw through all of it and deemed it “trash worthy”.
One member’s notion about S&W refusing to perform warranty work due to modifications (drilling gas port) was false and ungrounded conjecture on his part. It did not have anything to do with their decision not to warranty, nor could it have caused the damage. In short, it had nothing to do with my interaction with the company or their refusal to supply spare parts, which is why it wasn’t mentioned in my OP. If my thread was deleted on those grounds, I’d like to hear it from the mod who made he call, and if so, how much of my prior ownership history he wants me to include when I re-post the story to avoid it getting deleted the next time.
