So about a month ago I ordered a lower from SAW. They sent an email saying they would charge my card until the lower shipped, and I got charged four days later. 9 days after that they email saying they never received the FFL info. (It was put in the comments box like its supposed to be). However it was provided again for SAW. They said the info was invalid… For my mother had the FFL fax their info to SAW…it’s now been a MONTH since I ordered this ****ing lower, SAW will not reply to emails, they won’t answer their phone. Today I get another email saying SAW is closed all next week and STILL DOESN’T have my FFL info. I’m about to dispute the charge with navy fed and leave a review with the BBB. http://www.specializedarmament.com
I’m looking at turning around and ordering from G&R, as I know they are highly respected here, but I have (on FB so I take it with a grain of salt) heard some negative things, and after this ordeal with SAW I’d like to avoid that again and just get my stuff.
G&R is good to go. I’ve never had a problem with them and I’ve never heard of anyone having a problem. Grant posts here often and if you look in the Feedback section it’s full of praise. G&R does have a notice on their site saying he’s training and orders won’t ship until 22 Sept. if I recall correctly.
SAW is not too far from my house so I used to go there and pick it up in person.
But I quit buying from them about 10 years ago due to the big ego and the even bigger prices.
It was kind of an impulse buy when I saw the colt lower, since nobody else tears down colt rifles to sell stripped lowers. About three days after ordering I saw G&R had an almost complete rifle for a little more and was a little butthurt.
I appreciate the input guys. I’ll dispute the charges now.
I wouldn’t worry about G&R. Grant runs this forum and his operation is GTG on the delivery and promises end. You order from him, you’ll get it, and if you don’t get it (rare), he has reasons and will let you know/work out a plan.
Don’t worry about the FB butthurt. You will get your stuff. That’s never in doubt with G&R.
Holy crap, you ain’t kidding! Almost $1000 for a 6920 upper without a bolt carrier group. And, to add a BCG, it’s an additional $250. Somebody got a boat payment?
For some reason my email doesn’t work with that site… Not sure what the deal is, but I lurk there often.
Definitely wanted to pass the word on this one. I can handle slow shipping, but that took it to a new level for me. Very unprofessional. As of now it looks like I’ll be ordering from G&R!
Well, I was about to go dispute the charge but I got an email (at midnight ) saying it was drop shipped. No tracking. I think I’ll give it till Monday.
My last shopping experience with G&R didn’t go so well. I called in to place the order because their website was having some issues. I spoke with a guy (not Grant) ordered the items and gave him my CC info. Later on I get a call from them saying my order was cancelled because they don’t take phone orders (even though he took down all my info and told me the order would be processed). The message they left said to order via their website. Needless to say, the whole experience left a bad taste and I haven’t done business with them since.
I ended up getting the stuff I needed from BCM instead.
